Four of the players selected on the interchange bench for Melbourne aren't named in the Sandringham side. That could suggest that Carroll, Jamar and Whelan will be travelling down to Casey Fields on Saturday?

good to see zomer has kept his spot and mcnamara named on the bench? dont think he has even been in the best for the 2s yet??

I hope McNamara gets a shot at his senior debut. Nice to see that he's making progress.

Another big opportunity for Zomer with Sautner still out.

i think that was my early prediction for the mfc team too...

have we got a 2nds team? i woner if newton is coming back through there?

I don't think the seconds are playing as they played, and beat, the Casey seconds before last week's game against the Filth; the Filth do not have a seconds team.

I spoke to Holland on Monday and he told me he was definitely playing this week

he may have hurt his shoulder at training I guess

He also said Newton would play

Pretty sure its VCE exam period which may explain Maric's absence.

The 2's are playing Casey again this weekend. Pretty sure Newton is coming through the 2's.

Davey and possibly Bate would probably need fitness tests before lining up I'd suggest.

liked what I saw of Zomer last week at Sandy.

Yes, he was quite promising, especially early. After half-time the game degenerated into a kick-to-kick between the half-back lines.

Zomer is very raw, but he has the physical attributes; the future is up to him.

It appears that an alignment with Casey Scorpions is by no means a certainty - Scorpions could be a stand-alone club in 2009. Would it be possible for two cstand alone clubs to share the same ground at Casey?

Casey know that we cannot afford to run our own seconds; they know that we must form an alliance. They are just playing hard to get.

I doubt Casey could stand-alone and be as competitive on field.

Their VFL players are pretty young when compared to Sandringham's VFL players for example.

I have a big watch on Buckley. All his 3 of his first quarter kicks have been ineffective.

is whelan playing? only seen carroll and jamar playing of the emergencies...

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
