Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Let's be proactive...let's get as many suggestions up on this board as possible that we can send to the club. They are not going to ask us for our opinion. Let's tell them what we want

The inverted red and blue is exactly what it should be. We are the team we love, the team of the RED and the BLUE! Not bloody grey/white/silver.

If its okay for the Pies to just switch their colours around, it should be okay for us. But gee, knowing the AFL, it sure wont be.

Soooo much better than any clash jumper we've ever worn. Simplicity often is everything.

Well done.

This is exactly what I would like to see.

Different enough to clash with no other jumper, BUT still the Melbourne Football Club: RED & BLUE!

I know some people bagged it but I always liked

Melbourne-2004.gif

Red provides a different distinction from our clash rivals, and if not that then I'm not adverse to wearing the light blue 70s/80s heritage jumper as a clash strip.

At least those jumpers scream Melbourne, not like the current garbage.

I would be happy with the above with blue numbers, with either blue or red shorts and either blue or red socks depending on who we play.

Can anyone mock up these chnages for me.

We need to keep it as much red and blue as possible and cut out as much white and grey rubbish.

We sould be sending theese designs into the footy show for this Thursday.

I tried finding the pic of the dandenong jumper they wore for 2 years which is a white jumper with a reb and blue yoke, can't quite remember if it looked good, but I think it would still be better than that crappy thing we wore.

Problem with the red one is that it has a demon on it.

And according to the marketing gurus who run our club we are no longer the Mighty Demons!

We are the Mighty fc!

I always thought marketing was a complete [censored], now I'm sure.

I prefer the new logo.

As for jumpers, I like the idea of inversed colours or at worst the royal blue. There's enough white in the white shorts, keep the jumper red and blue.

I would love the club to sell a portion of our away jumpers to sponsors.

Like what the Saints (Pura Light), Blues (M&M's) and Kangaroos (Orange) did.

I know it may make some of you mad, but believe me it is certainly better than relocating, merging or just going into extinction.

The money that could be raised by selling the jumper could be huge. I think that if we develop a strong culture at the club then the profiteering of selling the jumper will be ineffectual. The argument of playing for the jumper certainly went out the window when they adopted the silver jumper.

I can't imagine any company coming up with a design worse than the silver jumper.

For an example, maybe we can start with sporting a green jumper (light green V and dark green underneath) and collect some $$ from Green Energy.

I see where you're coming from, but the examples you've provided are also examples of failed designs. Members of each of those clubs hated those jumpers. I for one would detest seeing the Melbourne football club run out in bright green. We need to remain true to our colours, especially in a year that recognises our history more than any other. Red and blue: that's it.

Haha, come on FC!

It's scary that someone ok'd the decision to remove the Demon and use this white jumper.

Probably just as scary that more than one person thought it was a good idea and that the supporters would accept it. Shows a shocking misjudgement. Just like the removal of the scarf as a gift with the membership.

White jumper, no scarf, no Demon, no promotion in the public, 1 win, injuries, what a shocking 150th year.

I certainly am not suggesting it for this year. It is something I would like to see next year. If, for example, we played an away match on a Friday night we could potentially command huge money to play in a sponsor jumper. The cost of one national ad in that time-slot is huge. Imagine what we could command for 3 hours. I would suggest the club should seriously look at it. I am certain for 500K-750K you would be prepared to watch us play in another jumper. It alone, would wipe out huge potions of our debt.

There are plenty of other clubs out there who have plenty of money without having to have sold sponsorship rights to their jumper. We should be looking at long-term ways of securing finances so that we don't need to wear bright green. Don't know that I'd want our club to sacrifice its identity for money, if only for one or two matches.

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
