Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Geelong plan to use Dangerfield up forward more this year.  As crazy as it sounds, Frost may be the logical match-up as he has the pace and strength to go with him.

My first thought was to give Jetta first crack as I think he can match him both in the air and when the ball hits the deck, but I see the merit of Frost as well.

My thought is that Danger would cut him to pieces.

Frosty is an athlete first and foremost and wouldn't have the footy smarts to go with Danger.

The best way to beat Danger as a forward is to stop supply and force him back into the midfield.

The Swans failed badly at this in the finals and left Rampe exposed.

Yeah right.

Which is why, with finals on the line the paid professionals had Frost plaiyng at Casey at the end of the season and Tmac's younger brother in the ones. I mean what would would the coaching staff know.

Sometimes one wonders, don't they.

Actually he couldn't get a game at Casey. I recall Drunken saying he sat next to him at a Casey final and he said he wasn't injured just badly out of form.

Correct and not correct, Frosty didn't qualify for Casey for finals, I had a chat to him at Williamstown, totally understood being dropped from AFL side, said his form dropped away horribly

Think AVB and McKenna are the 2 long term, the rest, niggles, tightness, working back from op, injury

Can someone explain why we did not/could not rookie AVB and then see how he went at Casey. Early days but not looking like a smart move. Hope I am wrong.

Thanks for clarifying. I couldn't understand why he'd dropped so badly out of contention that he didn't play for Casey. That makes more sense.

These two are a real worry. Has McKenna ever been fit and injury free since coming to Melbourne? Another year on the sidelines would see him done, just seems such a waste of a spot at the moment. And Vanders a bit the same although we know what he can do when injury free, but photos suggest he is a long way off.

Saty, any thoughts on these two?

If nothing else, treating your own players with respect encourages others (think Lewis and Lever) to see Melbourne as a desirable club to join.  Transferring an injured player to the rookie list is unlikely to enhance the club's reputation.

We chased McKenna for a reason, just had a rotten run, he has a year, they will reevaluate then, he is rated within the club

Same with AVB, has a year contract, we all know what he can bring, if they can get him back

As I have stated before, with injury these days the Club does it properly, joked with Boxing Coach that he was the leash for Viney, to ensure he only did what he was supposed to

Of the rehab on Monday

Kent - full shoulder reco, so no contact work, probably knows the longer in rehab further down the pecking order

Jones - has had a calf niggle

Petracca - same, niggle in the leg, not sure where, think the quad

Joel Smith -  building back after a couple of serious injuries

Tim Smith - same

Balic - was in rehab, didn't seem restricted or uncomfortable, so probably reported a niggle

Weed - coming back from ankle op

Yes, Time and Saty. It was the case - drop in form at that point and non-qualification to play for Casey. Still, given the result of that season, I hope he had a good rest, kept the faith and it seems, used the time profitably to prepare for a very big 2018. Carna Dees!

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,
