Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot. Farewell Demonland and thanks for the memories

This is the first time someone has actually said this, and you're absolutely right. We just have no vision as a club and are always five years behind everyone else.

Ive been a Roos believer and still am in terms of what he's done with the overall club. Love him as a man and a leader of men. But, I have to say, like a few others here I now think Goodwin needs to be in the drivers seat. The game has changed, and Roos style wont cut it. I hope he's free enough in his thinking to see that .............unlike Neeld and Bailey before him. If we "stay the course" this year with this game plan we could finish with 4 - 6 wins and a lot of his good work will be undone

Ascobar, maybe your problem is that your expectations are based around training reports and match summations from supporters on this forum who wear blinkers. Or maybe you just like to read all the positive things that posters write about the players, and ignore reality.

Blaming the "state of the game of the game" is a cop out.  Your anger should be solely directed at the coach and the players. Actually, also direct your anger at the forum posters who write crap about how good we are, and have falsely set your level of expectation.

A training report is just that a training report, every team looks a million dollars at training, everybody wanted Petracca immediately picked after 40 minutes in a scratch match simulation, so don't be so high and mighty precious............. as for walking away, all I can say to 'supporters' like that is bye

The club sucks has for years the AFL sucks has for years we beat Geelong last year we should be starting to get level with them but no Free Agency took care of that it's like the hawks get the bottom sides best defender and win there 3rd flag in a row AFL not a very good sport anymore.

I get where you are coming from Ascobar but these threads come up after every disastrous loss and we have had more of them than I have had hot dinners. Fair dinkum I would have thought us Dees fans would have the thickest skins of all supporters in the AFL such is the trauma we have put ourselves thru in the past decade.

Yes it was yet another totally unacceptable performance yesterday and hopefully a massive wake up call for some of the players who seem to have thought we won a GF last weekend.

Harden up and stick by the club. we are just as likely to have one of the clubs greatest ever victories this year as we are another putrid display like yesterdays.

Why do people think footballers are not the same as them, ie human beings (sorry I am on Demonland so I am drawing a long bow there) the players like to have a chat, they appreciate people showing up at training, they also listen if you give them feedback without abuse, you really don't think they know exactly how the supporters feel this morning, oh I forgot the only answer for yesterday is to publically [censored] the players and the coaches in Fed Square, this is only footy, in the big scheme of things if a loss in a footy game is the most important thing in your life, you need to look at your life

You are not worth debating with. Simple as that

we lost to a side that has been together for weeks

half that team had retired by last September.

For you a loss is less important than smooching with the players no doubt.

It's just sport, same as posting on here, you have winners and losers, people who stand on the sidelines watching, people who abuse, some whose own feelings of inadequacy are patently demonstrated, I chat to the players about soccer, music, comedy, charity work and footy

Why rock up to training all the time if a loss like yesterday brings a mere shrug of the shoulders? Clearly you think they are your mates and the club itself is a distant second.

If you don't really give a stuff then why go?

What more is it supposed to be, I pay my membership (in September), I do a few things with the club, I go to games....I get disappointed with poor performances.....I tell the players about things I wasn't happy with

Don't blame mate.... As a mfc member for 19 yrs & what we have over the last decade I still shake my head at losses like yesterday .. How players come 1/2 switched on to play like that after all the list & coaching changes is beyond me! I question our leadership group & coaching somewhat to all the backslapping & winning 2 in a row etc  but it's the playing group responsibility to to turn up & play FFS ..

I completely accept all the criticism and would have expected nothing less :)

This post was really meant to be a tribute to the forum and the supporters who keep the "spirit of 26" alive. As a long-distance supporter there is little other than Demonland to help keep the passion alive when you have no one else to discuss the game and plight of my beloved club with. But like any long distance relationship it gets to a point when you don't know when you'll see your team play again and all the effort of staying in touch with all the intimate details doesn't make sense any more.

I believe the club is on the right track and have some great young talent with a solid coaching group and the most competent administration we have had for a long time. And I did not mean to encourage any other supporters to jump off the bandwagon. If and when I move back to Australia I am sure I will be back on the forum once again...(I will be making an exception to watch Jack Trengove's comeback match, who I still believe could be our great avenger...)

Stay passionate and engaged. Go Dees!

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
