Lame dig at Strauss who was good once again, also Morton is not improving. It's easy to look alright when he keeps getting the ball in open space because the opposition doesn't even bother to man up on him, but he always sheits himself in any contested situation.

Morton had a poor game, made some crucial errors.

Thought Trengove was good.

As for Jurrah, would've had "needs a rest".

No way. I know he has some good qualities, but his foot skills are not AFL standard. In fact, they are barely B-grade amateur standard. Shocking game.

Good analysis joeboy, only disagree somewhat on Morton, who I thought was frustrating for the most part (and I'm a Cale fan).

Strauss wasn't "good".

And I am yet to see this much vaunted elite kicking.It's early days but it doesn't do it for me.

Strauss has improved out of sight compared to where he was last year. I have yet to see him beaten this season. He may not always have a huge impact on the game offensively, but he's shutting down an attacking option and he's working well as a designated kicker from the back line. He also didn't put any out on the full today that i noticed.

I thought Jurrah was pathetic today. His two goals at the end gloss over what has been a poor run of form for about 3-4 weeks. He's clearly injured. He's not contesting marks like he could last year. He is not leaping anywhere like he was last year. His defensive efforts amount to 2-3 chases per game. He is down on confidence and clearly needs a rest this week, get some rehab on the leg and get set for a huge friday night game against the Dogs @ the Dome. I could clearly see that he was frustrated and there were a couple moments that highlighted it for me. First there was the left foot snap from about 30 meters out that just went straight in the air when i'm sure there was a player free and 2. The dropped mark on the city end southern stand side and he could not follow it up with a handball.

Rest him. So my three words for Jurrah would be "Goals disguise form'

Were you at the game? If you were you may have noticed how the majority of passes to LJ were too high, going over his head, dropping short or pitted him against two opponents. Sometimes several of these at once. The reason he didn't get more goals is because of the shocking delivery. You can't kick a pass two feet above his head and expect him to mark it when there's a taller defender in his back pocket. They just put the ball in his general direction and hope he can pull off a freak mark. Sooner or later we'll get some midfielders who understand that you kick a low pass to a leading target and he'll be kicking bags of 10. Watts had exactly the same problem today.

jurrah couldn't get into it for 3 quarters. He was working hard off the ball for everyone else.

Bailey spent 2 mins @ 3/4 time pumping him up and clearly told the entire team to involve him in the play. - The best way to get confidence into a bloke.

Bailey then threw jurrah up the ground and it was clear from my position and reinforced hearing BT's commentary from in the corporates - Bailey instructed him 'go and get it'

Watch the last quarter and see the focus switch to players actively looking for him.

I didn't see DB pumping up Jurrah but I definitely thought we were deliberately trying to involve him in the game during that last quarter.
