  1. Could we not say the same about all the players in the draft.
  2. All things considered it’s not that bad, considering next year is our away ANZAC and QB games we cannot afford a repeat of last season. Lots of Sunday games but if we’re being honest besides Melbourne supporters no one wants to watch us play at the moment.
  3. I can’t wait to put Hibberd in my best pre season best 22.
  4. For some posters it’s not ok to pot JKH and Stretch but for Frost it’s open season.
  5. Very tired last night, didn’t even think of that one mate.
  6. Not thread related.... Jetstar has a sale on with free return flights for the months of April, May and June 2020. Bit hard though considering the draw isn’t out yet. So we booked our flights for QB, the only assured game at the moment. If you live interstate it’s worth having a look.
  7. Where did this originate? So in seasons 2016 - 2018 he laid 126 tackles in the goalsquare? At a quick glance he had more tackles than Tom McDonald who covers quite a bit of ground. Year Games Goals Tackles 2014 20 40 27 2015 21 46 28 2016 24 62 46 2017 21 45 52 2018 22 46 61 2019 11 22 18 We can overlook the 2019 season because according to most it doesn’t count for our players so going off his previous five seasons his numbers look alright. I can’t see how having him on board for 2 seasons would hurt us that much.
  8. I’d take him, but apparently the terms “role player” , “upgrade on what we currently have” or “depth” can only be used on certain players.
  9. If we were to take him on a two year contract what would it take in terms of a trade with the Crows?
  10. So much confusion. Broken down in its simplest form “if we’re being honest”..... Lets remove the +’s and the -‘s and just have ratings of a, b , c and d. If Dusty and Fyfe are an A, then Oliver must be a B. That would put Petracca as a C. Then based on last years form where does that put Jones and Hibberd. 95 % of our list were C and D grade this year.
  11. I’m guilty of being seduced.... I was waiting for a full phantom draft to see what other small forwards were available if any this year.
  12. I’ve got no idea who he is, I’ll look him up. I just keep reading how the talent will drop off, that and I miss the days of Flash. Thought he’d be worth a look.
  13. For those in the know.... Would he still be around at pick 26?
  14. Well at least we know nice and early.
  15. Exactly, yet so much discussion is centred around Frost’s disposal and his run and carry which often results in turning the ball over. We should also be discussing a replacement for Hibberd and Salem taking the game on more and becoming more attacking.
  16. Also a reminder to the players and the so called leadership group.
  17. For all of the stats that are thrown up about him and the “in the best five forwards in the competition” I just don’t see where that translates on game day. I know I’m always critical of him and I acknowledge he’s improved but for technically a no.1 draft pick with his talent I believe he leaves his supporters, well some of his supporters wanting. Barring major injury he has no excuses not to dominate games next season. No more “he did some good things” or was “on fire in the first before doing nothing for the next three quarters”. We’re going to get an easy draw so it will be interesting to see how he performs. Once a goal kicking coach is appointed Petracca should be the first player lining up for lessons.
  18. The thread is titled “gun” forwards.
  19. Regardless of whether we land him or not as has been mentioned on other threads by others and myself, I would also like to get if we could through the draft young Kysaiah Pickett or similar with a second round pick.
  20. Don’t agree with this at all. I’ve often said I’d love to know what our players are on, comparing our list to others we are clearly paying overs for sone and/or paying based on potential, or because of a feeling that we owe someone. We’ve done that for years now.
  21. I still think half back but we need someone as equally or more skilled with speed on the other flank, giving us options and harder to defend against. The Giants at times last week tried to continually go through Whitfield and were found out because of it.
  22. Leading in to the start of last season was the “predicted best 22 thread”. 3/4 of posters had all of May, Lever and Oscar in their back 6. Then Frost came in and held his spot all year, there were even games when all four were available and Oscar didn’t play. Now according to some we only need a fit May and Lever as tall defenders. Also surprising is the lack of the conversation about the players around Frost this year, for if they were more up to the task we might not even be talking about this.
  23. Appreciate that Hibberd is still contracted, doesn’t mean we have to play him though. But we will....need some list rotation to keep things fresh.
  24. That an easy draw rjay, though I would like to make finals on the back off beating some of this years finalists not just the bottom teams twice.
