Post Match Discussion - Round 2
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
A lot easy shots on goal missed, again. Against better opposition when opportunities are limited we will get burnt. -
If the Crows can keep their best team on the park they will be hard to beat. Yes they lost Lever and Cameron but Gibbs was a great get for them.

We might be in trouble this season.

Sadly BB when it comes to Melbourne every game is a danger game. Round 1 of not some of our players still don’t get it. -

For me round 2 & 3 should be about how much not whether we can, for round 4-6 being Hawks, Tigers and Bombers will tell us how we’re travelling. -
Maroochydore training camp
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Brisbanedemonfan's topic in Melbourne Demons
He was recruited as a key forward, he’s getting paid a key forwards and we need a key forward who excels in all aspects of the game that a forward of his size should. -

I would rather Hogan be a scary thought for opposition defenders than midfielders. -
Depends on the individual. He could potentially get 1.2 from the Suns before the 500 from the AFL. No Victorian club could/would match that.
-
I stand corrected, I was listening to an interview the afternoon it was announced and it was stated he was given an extension half way through 2016. It was probably a Sydney journalist....
-
I wouldn’t rule out Collingwood that easily.
-
I think Tippet was signed until the end of 2020 which makes it more interesting.
-
He’s contracted for 2 more Jumbo. But if we could get Lynch.
-
They’ve already stated he could earn as much as 500k. That was late last season.
-
Didn’t Roos bring in Leading Teams years ago to address leadership, communication and unity. They probably also talked about building a brand. This club seems to move in circles.

The Most Talented List According to Champion Data
Bombay Airconditioning replied to JAG007's topic in Melbourne Demons
The Giants were apparently meant to win it the last two years. -
Vince this season. Lewis 2019 Jones 2020? Too early to say, the next two seasons are locked in, anything after that should be taken year by year.

Lots of calls for Hogan to have a breakout year. 2012 : drafted mini draft 2013 : ineligible to play 2014 : sidelined with back injury 2015 : 44 goals 19 (20 games) age 20 2016 : 41 goals 33 (21 games) age 21 2017 : 20 goals 6 (10 games) age 22 I would of thought a key forward who can kick 44 and 41 goals in his first two years has already had a break out year. In 51 games he’s kicked 105 goals 58, for an average of roughly 2 goals 1 per game. At first glance that reads well but a lot of those 58 behinds were easy misses from 20-30 metres out with little to no angle. Jesse excels in some aspects of his game, his contested marking would be one of them. But as has been identified before, for a key forward he doesn’t take the big pack marks and struggles with distance and accuracy when kicking for goal. Jesse is and can still be a very dangerous player/forward but as it stands, it’s those deficiencies are the difference between him being a very good player and a star of the game. An extension of that is his contract, he’s out of contract at the end of 2019 at which point he will be 24, he will no doubt be looking for 4-5 years at 1 million plus per season. He has the next two years to show how good he can be, then any new contract can and should be based purely on his talent. Any “potential” or “go home” factor can now be removed. For me I’m still undecided on how good he can be but I no longer think he is a once in a generation player as he has so often been described. Weighing up everything that’s happened, i would have Cameron, Lynch, Danniher and Brown all ahead of him. Also after watching last years final series, so many talented key forwards were worked out by opposition clubs and shut out of games, I found myself wondering how he would he have gone had he played for the Crows/Giants/Swans etc.

Is “Be part of the journey” the slogan for both men’s and woman’s teams or just the woman’s?

I though KB went alright by himself along with his regular guests. Don’t see a need for him to be paired off. -

Is it a full time gig for Dr Turf or just his normal cameo’s? -

If Richmond winning the flag last year isn’t a big enough motivating factor then I don’t know what is. -
