  1. Hopefully this thumping makes Roos realise how far off it we really are, and that 3 years simply won't be enough! Put a 5-year contract in front of him, after today's performance, he'd sign it.
  2. I don't care about the start of the season, we just need these boys right come September
  3. If you're coming from Melton, it's a bloody long drive. For a practice match anyways.
  4. I'm excited heading in to round 1 for sure. Half decent coach, new players, and older players have taken very well to Roos (Neeld rarely ever had the players' imo). But let's not forget the past 2 years for round 1, we thought we should win. Got done both times by big margins. So i will reserve celebrating a win, when the final siren goes. But not before then.
  5. Is it too early to start demanding Barrett issue a public apology? Muppet.
  6. Was he the one that kicked that bullet from the right HBF and hit Jonesy lace out at right HFF resulting in a super goal? Haven't seen a kick like that come out of our back-line for quite some time! Kicked with real penetration and accurate to boot, something our back-line seriously lacks.
  7. We seemed to play with the rotation rule in mind, with 116, as opposed to the Cats 152. Most of the stats were similar, except for our almost 100 more disposals and their double inside 50's (31-62) and marks inside 50 (8-17)
  8. For those who suffer from MFCSS, surely this means the final nail in the coffin on Frawley's future with the Dees.
  9. He was drafted in 2008. By my count, that's 6 years on our list come year's end. Injuries aside (and if they are still an excuse after 6 years, clearly his body isn't up to the rigours of AFL), he has done nothing over those 6 years to warrant a contract extension (even Tapscott played one decent game - his debut). Needs to put in an absolute blinder this year to even be considered for a new contract. Another BP special!
  10. I'm actually amazed that he hasn't developed stress fractures in his feet (even the good one!)
  11. had a look at the co-captains video, on the mfc website, and still need to be pinched when i see Roosy in an MFC polo!!! :)
  12. was that not also the year where he ran the length of Waverly, and won goal of the year? I remember thinking he should have been awarded both the mark and goal of the year. They gave it to one of the softest players' to have ever played the game in Winston Abraham.
  13. I wouldn't mind seeing him tried at CHB for a while, no matter how poor he might start off. Will he ever be as good as Craig Bolton, don't know, doubt it. But i do see similarities in both. Quite mobile for a tall, has a decent kick on him and is not meant to star, but just perform his role as a stopper. I also see him as a potential swing man, a la Adam Hunter from WCE, just not as good. Garland used to be a whipping boy on here a while back. Now, everyone practically sings his praises. Pederson has only played 26 AFL games, give him more of a chance before we write him off.
  14. Our better years have usually come off the back of good form in the pre-season competition (in whatever form they may have been).
  15. That he has. Every innings he has played this Ashes series, he's gotten no lower than 50 runs. A timely century from Smith, he needed to put in a good innings. Rogers needs some good form with the bat and soon. So too Bailey. As for Watson, looks like Tarzan............plays like Jane.
  16. By the end of 2011, Trengove was playing some really good consistent football. Since then he has gone backwards and fast. Sure, MN wasn't the best thing for Trengove's development, but surely, one person cannot alone be responsible for such a step backwards.
  17. I think it was mentioned in one of the mfc.com.au articles, that the rehab group isn't just for the injured players (or even guys with slight niggles), but also those who are deliberately due for a lighter session, as to not over-train, ie. managing their workload.
  18. fantastic stuff, six6six. You're gonna help a lot of us get through the long summer with shots like that! Kudos!
  19. Whoever we pick, it will have Roosy's approval, that in itself fills me with the only belief i need.
  20. yep, should all 3 be available, i'd call out Scharenberg's name first, Salem's second and Freeman's third.
  21. He would just about be top 3 if he was around the 180cm mark. Unless Scharenberg slides, i wouldn't be at all disappointed if we chose Taylor.
  22. I think it's more "it only took me 2 months to convince him to coach the MFC, imagine what i can do with 3 years up my sleeve!"
  23. Yeah, according to afl.com.au, Nev is still training with us. Are we looking to rookie him, or even re-draft him with pick 57 (given the apparent shallowness of this draft)? We are still in need of a small crumbing forward, and he isn't afraid of the rough stuff, nor does he shirk a contest.
  24. I'm just glad that we don't have to worry about attracting major sponsors at the end of each year. 3 years to relax a bit.
