  1. Howe is a very frustrating player for mine. He is a magnificent field kick, yet his set shot is not the most accurate. In fact, he's more inclined to kick the tougher one's than nail the easier one's. But he has talent, that's undebatable.
  2. Ohhhhhh, so you think the Saints are after a KPF. Well i hope you're right because with Pelchen gone and the Saints getting their way, it then means Petracca is ours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. It doesn't matter who we play, or where we play in round 1 (except for maybe the Saints at the G). Given we finished 2nd last this year, we'd be odds on to lose to our round 1 match anyway.
  4. Let the guessing begin! Who was Pelchen after and who were the Saints after? I'm guessing that Pelchen was after a tall and the Saints were after Petracca.
  5. Agree P-Man, he seems to have stalled big time. I thought he was a decent player (more than decent) prior to this year, no idea what has gone wrong. He would be a definite upgrade on McKenzie, but as already stated, he's contracted for next year.
  6. Nah from what i've heard, Goodyear is wildly inconsistent. He only saves a game once a year.
  7. McCartin isn't a twig either. And you are correct Moneider, he has aggression and uses it to his advantage. Or more importantly, wants to use it.
  8. If he's available, Touk Miller would be a great get, then get his height deprived companion Caleb Daniel at pick 55. Gotta give the small fellas some love (maybe i'm biased, being 170cm myself)
  9. And yet Trengove had a time under 3.00 seconds and Watts had one around 2.82s. 20m sprint times can be deceptive. Hartung, who is quick, recorded a similar time in the 20m sprint to Lever. Make of that what you will.
  10. Cheers GNF, you provided some hope with at least solid foundations, rather than speculation pulled from nowhere. Not a fan of the thread though 'the week that could have been'. Don't like dealing with what if's, what's done is done, time to move on.
  11. And he can kick it a mile too!
  12. Yeah, i doubt either of them will be there at pick 40. Chin up though, if we draft Caleb Daniel with that pick i'll be happy!
  13. It's a very thin draft. Talent is decent up until about pick 30ish, then it falls away quite sharply (there will still be some rough diamonds dug up late). The top 30 this year however, lets just say it's no 'super-draft'. As i said it's a rather shallow draft (so it would seem, won't truly know until a few years down the track)
  14. I agree Al, plus Frawley couldn't kick either, so like for like hopefully.
  15. If we were going for a mid and KPF, i'd go for Brayshaw and Wright. McCartin seems like he has a similar playing style to Hogan, whereas Wright can play as that rotating ruck/forward with his huge height and big frame (similar to a now Geelong player)
  16. Come on down Jake Carlisle!
  17. We need to get at least 1 of Petracca or Brayshaw though. Petracca is almost no chance, so Brayshaw + Lever (my preference) or Brayshaw + Wright (doesn't sound too bad either)
  18. Just wait for the delistings..................then you're going to be really po'd
  19. better to give unknowns a shot, than keep player's who aren't going to get you where you want to go.
  20. Which goes to show that the 20m sprint testing can be deceptive, Trengove prior to all his injuries was never considered fast.
  21. That's just a throwaway line to keep supporters happy, but we've cut through his bs in 2 seconds flat. As for this 'net gain' ideology, LOL. If we were in such a good position to land Stretch with our 3rd round pick, you don't just go ahead and reduce the hand you're dealt and hide behind 'net effect'. You exploit it and press the advantage as hard as you can
  22. Either way, St.Kilda and GWS are way better poker players' than we are. "otherwise we will use the PSD to get him". Why is it that this club loves to talk the talk, but never walk the walk. If we were that desperate to trade 23 for Frost, we must have Dangerfield lined up for our PSD pick.
  23. Whilst i'm happy we got him, we have given up a very good pick for Frost plus some nothing picks (draft runs very thin after pick 30ish). I thought this was going to be a new Melbourne, but yet again we didn't have the cojones to stand our ground and were the first to blink. But welcome to the MFC Sam Frost
  24. Yeah, a bloke that goes at pick 11 in the draft a few years ago and has done nothing (on the field) to diminish his value. Wake up from dreamland!
