Which says a fair bit about the likes of Salem ,Langdon, Laurie, Rivers, Fritsch, Sparrow, Petty, Chandler et al.

I agree with Macca. Under his watch as captain the club has gone backwards. It’s not his fault, but it has highlighted some weaknesses in his leadership. No one on our list would have been a better option than Gawn though. But to claim the highs you must also claim the lows. Not a knock on Max though, no one is perfect. And even if they were, having to lead when the likes of Roffey, Pert and Goodwin were coming up so short would drown anybody.
