  1. I'm going to get technical here. The question was "who is my first-choice ruckman", not "who do i believe is our best ruckman". The latter still goes to Jamar, why?, because he has runs on the board. Spencer and Gawn don't. However given the actual question, Jamar is on his last legs, Spencer will always be a stop-gap and nothing more and Gawn needs to get as many games into him to speed up his development (hopefully with as few injury hiccups as possible).
  2. Is this draft consider a shallow one or on par, when compared to recent years?
  3. That's a good get!
  4. I liked him the moment we drafted him. I'm no draft guru, but for whatever reason, he gave me confidence in selecting him. Similar to when we drafted Kent.
  5. I nominate M Jones and Howe.
  6. To hell with that, Vote 1 Pia Miller!
  7. It's a pitty that Weideman is out with a fractured foot, would've been interesting to see how he went during the championships.
  8. He's good mates with Stretch and was thought to be a good selection by Melbourne, when we picked him #40.
  9. For the life of me i have no idea why they persist with Howe, even as a back-man, over Grimes. At least Grimes gets involved in the contest, whereas Howe does SFA except for his cameo hanger. Agree with above sentiments, unless the coaching group are giving a couple their potential last rites as MFC players, some of the decisions are pretty poor.
  10. There are 2 reasons for me going to the QB game. 95% of it is to rock up for the 'Reverend' beanie in tow. The other 5% is to contribute to get as high an attendance as possible. 0% is to go and support our players. The fact that after all these years (as a group) they still pick and choose when to give 4 quarter efforts is disgusting and downright offensive to all those MFC members who continually give of their time and money and receive a virtual slap in the face for it.
  11. All get my tick of approval. Garland is an RFA, but if he goes i wouldn't be too perturbed either. A bit of experience gone no doubt, but a lot of the poor culture gone too. Admittedly not all of it their fault.
  12. So did a lot of others over the years. Davey and Moloney immediately spring to mind.
  13. Sorry, hard to convey and interpret tone when it comes to computers.
  14. That's probably because an unhealthy fat person would never physically challenge themselves to such a level as to force an injury
  15. Sure he is more proven at CHB than as a KPF, but he would be better than Dawes playing forward. No harm in having a quality swing man either. I'd see Tomlinson as more gettable though, even though he is smaller. He'd be easier to complete a successful trade too, as Essendrug are notorious to deal with.
  16. Whilst i agree that the easy part is getting rid of the NQR players and the hard part is finding quality replacements, it shouldn't prevent a continued mass culling and turnover of our list. There are still so many players that are simply not up to AFL standard. We already know what these players are and aren't capable of. The likes of Bail, Jones, Terlich, McKenzie etc should all be given the flick because they have had long enough to prove they are worthy of playing AFL level football yet have continually shown that they aren't up to it and won't aid in our efforts to rise up the ladder. Sure there's a madness in continually bringing in and culling more NQR players to fill the recently ousted NQR positions, but the new recruits are unknown at AFL level (most will be unsuccessful, but some might pay off - like a vandenBerg). It's like panning for gold, you've got to continually sort through all the cr@p and keep digging, but every now and then you find something.
  17. The whole team should walk back, would save us some money on airfares and really turn this week into a win for us.
  18. Can't wait to hear the cr@p Roos will try and jusitfy to us this week
  19. why have i wasted another Saturday on this pathetic mob? I would have got more enjoyment out of doing chores around the house.
  20. Not when it comes to football. His interests lie elsewhere. Trade him, just trade him.
  21. Viney should have been subbed on to start the third quarter, now he will not be able to make any meaningful contribution. Poor decision making by the powers that be. Roos will counter with looking at the positives of the first quarter and a bit, rather than dwell on the negatives.
  22. I'd rather a McDonald who wants to take the game on, rather than a Watts who...........well, does a Watts.
