Didn't hear the bit about wholesale changes. He did say he was embarrassed. Each player could respond in their own way.

IMO, the club is broken, and I doubt it can be fixed. The result of today is that membership will collapse, and no players will want to come to the club, so give up the idea of trading some quality in. Last year with Roos taking over, there was plenty of hope. There is none now.

Seems to me Roos is about the opposite of what you are saying. There will be no "putting the cue in the wrack" at MFC. He sees the last 3 games as a big pre-pre-season. If Hogan is up to a full-on AFL game, then I reckon Roos would see it as a positive step before entering a big preseason. I for one love this approach.

About Pederson. Club is saying that once he was omitted from the side, surgery was brought forward from next week to tomorrow.
-
Didn't Scully do a bit of that as well? lol
-
My feeling is that he played as a mid for the first 4 or 6 games. Not a success except for the 1st? game. Then tried elsewhere.

Some rose coloured glasses here. The quality, older players who were respected leaders were....................?
-
Don't think its been mentioned, but McDonald got 2 votes in the AFLCoaches votes (presumably from Roos), and Roos singled him out in his presser. McDonald aint going anywhere (unless he wants out).

long as the rain aint too heavy......

3 years max, maybe a 4th but only if the right successor is a fit. I see Dew reckons he is now ready to have a crack at the main job (and nearly signed up for MFC). link

Why oh why are WC so woeful in Perth? Skills deplorable. No home ground advantage. Unbelievable really.

Opportunities missed or momentum building?
Mono replied to Fitz Fitzpatrick's topic in Melbourne Demons
Building momentum for mine. And particularly pleasing is that we are very competitive on the road, as well as in Melbourne. -
What he said.

4 weeks back to 3 with early plea.

Quite possibly neither at this stage. I would have thought that if there is a suitable candidate, he will step down; if not he will stay on for a bit longer.

My understanding is that Jackson extended his contract til end '14. Maybe I am wrong. Greg Swann would be a good get IMO IF Jackson stands down/finishes up. AFL would be good with that I would have thought.

Melbourne should offer Patrick Dangerfield a $10 million contract
Mono replied to DemonOX's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'd go after Fyfe too, but NO $1m a yr plays for anybody. No premiership side that I know of have had a $1m player in their ranks; the best teams eg Geelong, have players taking 'below market price' so they can build a formidable team. -
Gametime, all internet delivery of (radio) commentary is through AFL.COM.AU

Could just be that they are managing JHK's game time. Time for a run as sub, then bye then back in 21 for Port.

Our only A grader gone...............sigh.

He also mentioned Bail and M Jones as "cusp" players who showed a bit on Sunday. Make of that what you will, but you wouldn't think they will be out this week. Roos also draws a big distinction between those that don't do the non-negotiables and those that make mistakes. Mistakes are OK (up to a point I guess), but the former won't get a game. 'Landers might need to look at changes in that light.

Leave without pay I hope. Ed: if it is personal issues, not football related.
-
Jesus, what's "bleeding in the groin"? Richard Douglas, AFC, out for 6 weeks. Medicos out there?
-
Sportsbet had us at $1.55 before the Hawthorn game....that we haven't gone out a bit since is maybe surprising, but don't forget, the Saints don't have Mantagna and Hayes for game 1. Ed: Stevens out too....don't know what saints will do for a mid-field. Most other teams playing the saints would be $1.05 or shorter
