"Hardest team to play against" rings a bell...
-
Nope....but Crowley has much bigger scalps to his name than N Jones. N Jones has had an excellent season....and to bag him because the AFL's best tagger nullifies him is ridiculous...it is then that the likes of Watts should really step up. Sadly he didn't, can't and won't.
-
Bail contracted for 2014 I believe.
-
Bet Jones got Crowley. Nuf said.

Watts just doesn't have a natural appetite for the contest. Simple. He was recruited as a very young athlete; more basketballer than footy player. Unlike Tippett, Brogan, Grundy, Pendleberry and other basketballers, he is not a natural footy player. He has the skills and awareness, but not the competitive nature. Lovely young bloke.....but trade him. Will never be a dependable contested player. AND he needs a new manager; he's getting very poor advice.

Casey Scorpions v Bendigo Gold (Jesse Hogan hurt)

Doubt Couch will be with us next year. -
And with 3 or 4 quality mids. We have 1. Ed: Port: Boak, Ebert, Cornes, Hartlett .....MFC: N Jones.

Maybe they can make it free for members. Gesture of ....err....umm....something.

Signed up yesterday for an AFL membership - good deal on at the moment. Melbourne will be my "supported" club and will get a few $s, and I'll be included in membership numbers, but I get the chance to watch some decent games (no MFC games). Will not be going to any more MFC games for the foreseeable. Jackson wants to sell hope.....hahahaha. Just giving folks a heads up on the deal - joining fee only for rest of '13, yearly fee only for next year.

That's 9 of the last 10 goals to GWS. <sigh>

My team name is "Crazy"...(yeah I know)...good to go again next year...

Peter Jackson - On The Couch Monday 29th July, 2013

I found his interview interesting. He certainly doesn't dress it up. Confident buggar too. But, not sure what he was on the show for. Nothing to talk about really that was new, and few questions from Heally and Sheahan; none from Roos. Heally's question/comment about CC/tanking got smashed, and no questions about ASADA (either Dons or MFC). Boys a bit afraid to ask questions maybe? So, self promotion? or a little dramatic tension vis a vis Roos/coaching? -
Yep. That absolutely pathetic year from the team in 2012 meant we got picks 3 & 4 in ND; thus we got Hogan (pick 3 to GWS) and Viney in the second round. Great effort by Neeld. FFS

Makes up a bit for Gysberts I guess.

Seem to remember someone on these boards quoted Connolly as saying Fitzpatrick would be a gun one day. Coupla years ago.......... Seemed far fetched at the time.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - DANIEL CROSS
Mono replied to MadAsHell's topic in Melbourne Demons
I've heard worse ideas. Great role model; gets the absolute most out of himself. -
IMO the only reason we will get draft concession/s is because we are the only club without bonafide senior, A grade player/s (excepting maybe GWS and they have heaps on the way, and will be trading for some this year). If that is the case, then any concession will be conditional on us trading it. Ed: our last bonafide A grader was Neitz. Been a while now.
-
Maybe they want to start the year over.
-
If we don't get a mid-field, we can be (as bad).
-
What story?? Make it up why not. FFS North sounded out the MFC about Watt's availability. they were told he's required. That's all. FFS

There was 2 very different views of Morton at the time of draft 1. very highly thought of (Larke medallist etc); would go very early; #4 about right. 2. Not a first rounder; don't remember 'softness' being brought up tho'; just not considered first rounder - you don't often read why recruiters don't take a player, just why they take the ones they do. So Morton was not left field, but there were plenty who would not have taken him. Lucas is the disaster and shows why U18 awards (in his case, AA) not a great indicator. As for Neeld ruining Morton (as some other posters have said), he played some good/high possession games in his first year; that was about it. Other teams sorted him out I guess. If there is any blame (and I don't think there is) it was from Bailey's time. Ed: grammar

Fitzpatrick was interviewed after the game and made the point that he has had 4 games in a row (which has helped him a lot).
-
Probably not. Wines is turning out a lot better than most thought imo. Deja vu Rich? But Toumpas very good yesterday. Won't turn into a Franklin/Tambling disaster.

My understanding is that the players were all concerned, and demanded a consent form that included guarantees from the club that the supplements were all legal/not banned. If this guarantee has been signed off by the club doctor, I would have thought that the onus on the player was met. This would mean the club is absolutely screwed of course.
