  1. Wow. What a 2006 pic. Says it all without saying much (or identifying the young woman).
  2. Yet he hasn't been delisted yet, like Crouch.....so FD sees something in him still, even if he falls of the list later..Maybe they had a policy, supported by Neeld and Craig, to play kids only in the middle, whether they were getting smashed week after week or not. (Don't forget Tambling got a 3 yr contract at the crow under Craig's watch - his judgement not always good.)
  3. Should have had more chances this year....disgraceful really. However, if Cross comes on board, not sure there is a role for him now....sadly.
  4. And presumably if greater than pick 25, crows won't be in it. then they have a problem. Vince presumably doesn't want GWS. And next year he is a free agent, and can walk. We might yet get him for a 30s pick.
  5. So where has Luke Tynan gone? Has he left because Josh got delisted?
  6. Agreed. A year of competitiveness and no spin is needed.
  7. Clearly very wrong...apologies to all Maybe.....
  8. The expectation that with Roos on board, all is well, and people will be happy to come to the club is probably a bit unrealistic. Getting a few runs on the board in 2014 will make the club a lot more attractive (hence the 3rd year option in Roos contract?). And Dew is not out of reach with new contract (still assistant coach); being appointed Senior Assistant to MFC with guaranteed Senior Appointment in 2 years would still see a release.
  9. Sheedy made it all happen. The only risk to essendon in the 2000 GF was a few very young MFC players; Green was one. Wallis had not played one game in the 1s that year (re-read that); Sheedy brought him in purely to take out Green and others. No other reason. For mine, Sheedy and Wallis have been beneath contempt since that day. (And pity the essendon player(s) who stood aside for Wallis.) Sheedy = %^&* Wallis = ^&%$ Ed: incorrect assertion
  10. So pleased to see Wallis shafted. I'll never forgive, or forget, him and Sheedy in 2000 GF. Ed: changed topic title. Added " Good riddance".
  11. Wish I could finish up one job, get paid out for a year, and walk into another position. Guess I'm stuck with raffle tickets.
  12. As I said earlier, "Club statement says there will no longer be a "Football Director" position on the board."
  13. Club statement says there will no longer be a "Football Director" position on the board. Agreed. And I like the idea of a "Football Director". Dunstall appears to be very effective in the role at the dawks. Not sure what other clubs have. Anybody?
  14. You don't see Kirk in the press at all. There's a reason.... he's bordering illiterate. Tough, very tough player...... senior coach?....... No
  15. Xavier Ellis? Jesus wept.......NO.
  16. In HK this weekend. Any advice where to watch GF on big screen (rather than streaming on a pad)? (Other than dragons club who want AUS$100 for the privilege.)
  17. Not necessarily. Dons lose Crameri -frees up some $s.Also Dons have no draft picks, so to improve their list they must trade in. With no draft picks to trade, they must target free agents and throw $s. So who is there? Thomas, restricted and Sylvia, unrestricted. Not much else? So it will be $s if Sylvia gets to the Dons. My only problem is: if Sylvia goes, who do we spend our salary cap on?
  18. Link. Seems strange; don't remember him getting a game in the 1s.
  19. Back to Bailey..... The article quotes: "AFL.com.au understands the club has discussed Bailey as an option to fill the role of suspended senior coach James Hird. It is unclear if Bailey, an assistant coach at Adelaide, will interview for the role now that the club's formal process to appoint a replacement has begun. " He's not even an applicant. Pure dream world stuff. Not worthy of a topic on this forum. FFS
  20. Roos wants quality mids ... we have plenty of cap room But Playing with fire for mine
  21. I'd settle for the 80%.
  22. What he said.
  23. Free agency was thought to give the free agents a chance at a pot of $s before retiring (thus helping (?) the lower clubs. Instead the free agents from poorer clubs are chasing the top clubs for a chance at a premiership (for minimal $s). So it goes. IMO, MFC may well get a priority pick, but on the condition it is on traded (and AFL sanctions the trade). You heard it here first.
  24. If Craig had got the main gig, I reckon it would have come with a succession plan of some sort.
  25. Back to the "he's a MFC boy, lets get him". FFS Let it go. Boys club is what lead us to where we are now. Can anyone see the Scott bros lining up for the Lions job?...........................Nope, thought so.
