  1. See below And I could say you just made that up. Get a grip. The comments I made are as I remember them, and have made such comments occasionally over the past 6 years or so. FWIW, Colin Wisbey's rankings for 07 draft were: 1 . COTCHIN, Trent (2 RIC) 2 . KREUZER, Matthew (1 CAR) 3 . MYERS, David (6 ESS) 4 . MASTEN, Chris (3 WCE) 5 . RIOLI, Cyril (12 HAW) 6 . VESZPREMI, Patrick (11 SYD) 7 . HENDERSON, Lachlan (8 BRI) 8 . MARIC, Addam (21 MEL) 9 . EBERT, Bradley (13 WCE) 10 . MEREDITH, Brett (26 SYD) 11 . MCCARTHY, John (31 COL) 12 . MOTLOP, Marlon (28 POR) 13 . PEARS, Tayte (23 ESS) 14 . MCNAMARA, Tom (66 MEL) 15 . GARLETT, Cruize (R30 KAN) 16 . MORTON, Cale (4 MEL) 17 . WARD, Callan (19 WBD) 18 . PETRENKO, Jared (R25 ADE) 19 . GREENWOOD, Levi (32 KAN) 20 . JACKY, Jarrhan (30 ADE) 21 . MCEVOY, Ben (9 STK) 22 . TAYLOR, Harry (17 GEE) And FWIW, check out bigfooty and DL posts around Nov 2007 and you will see plenty 'for' and 'against' Morton. I was in neither camp in 2007.
  2. Not so. About half the clubs rated Morton, half didn't (at any pick). Sadly we were in the first lot.
  3. I think what it shows is different people see things differently; different coaches see different value in players (think Lyon's love for Zac Dawson - doubt he would be on any other club's list). So it is with Phil Walsh - he must see something in Cheney that others don't.
  4. Not sure I agree...reckon he will be under plenty of pressure at the tiges. Agree with this. Trengove would have to be a better bet than a kid at pick 12 (or 10 if Adelaide bid). So they must be going after bigger fish. Plenty of times Roos has said we have enough kids. Trade may well go ahead ONLY if the other target is certain. ie all part of same deal.
  5. Roos would have seen Heeney when he was at the Sydney academy - obviously rates him very highly.
  6. If Frawley goes, I am gunna guess a mid-round one pick = pick 10. Pick 3 too good; end of round one pick not enough (very close to dogs compo for higgins). Pick 10 sounds about right.
  7. WTF. Nasher, are you saying you think Frawley will stay at MFC? Heavens...be the biggest stare down of all time...
  8. Off to the hawks I reckon, and maybe not the highest coin. If he wants finals guaranteed, then its hawks or freo. If the coin is not high, compo might be lower than we hoped. Sadly.
  9. Hmmm....they got lucky in 2001 with hodge and 2004 with ruffy, franklin and lewis (all pick 7 or less!). They made plenty of blunders though - eg thorpe, dowler, ellis, brennan, ries. What they have done is get good picks in round 2 and 3 eg hill, mitchell, etc.
  10. Peter Jackson said Bail had a breakout year. What he said.
  11. So, now Frawley knows where the club is headed. Wonder if it make a difference?
  12. Might not be Goodwin next. Tweet - 2hrs ago. SuperFooty (AFL) retweeted mickwarner ‏@heraldsunmick 2h Goodwin has same management company as Sanderson. Company says Goodwin NOT going to Crows
  13. Thoughts? Age wise not over the hill.
  14. If you want to put some pressure on yourself, then the filth is the place to go. Best thing for MC would be to accept MFC offer of a spot on the rookie list (decent money mind), and see how it all goes.
  15. Looking at what GNF has said (I know, I know) and what Roos and MFC are saying, it could be that MFC was planning to relist him as a rookie, just to see how everything pans out. Maybe that doesn't sit well with MC, with other clubs circling. Explains a lot.
  16. Looks like Clark's tweet to DemonGirl has also been deleted.
  17. Agree with this. While the Cats may not bottom out, I reckon they are on the slide, and success may not be Frawley's; will probably play finals tho'. There again, so might MFC in a year or 2. Don't see how Hawthorn have sal cap room, but does he want to head into the tropics?
  18. Should have some answers soon, I guess. Ed: might seem trivial, but I reckon removing "11" from his twitter ID is a teller.
  19. With what the Swans are paying Tippett and Franklin (and Mitchell reported $500+), they are going to have to shed some players; upping an offer to Malceski will only add to that. If they don't win the granny this year, it will be because Mummy has left.
  20. Actually the fall off coincided with Roo's announcement he was extending the 3rd yr of his contract (made during the second bye break). You'd have thought the players would be up and about after his announcement....not so.
  21. Point is, who will come to the club? last year Roos gave plenty of hope. There aint none now. Club is broken and I doubt it can be fixed. N Jones and a couple of others should get out while they have a chance of success. God knows they deserve to enjoy their "job" a bit.
