Spot on... Though players like him represent the bad state of drafting/developing which occurred in the past hence our present state.... A bit harsh on Toumpas only in his second year & injured this year... Give the kid a break....

This whole episode stinks.... basically a player commits to a club to a lucrative contract.....gets sick & forced to retire & our club negotiates a payout in the interest of the players health after only playing 15 games, then 6 mths later decides he wants to come back & play again but not for the MFC.... Excuse me but WTF has MFC done wrong & its appears we are getting shafted!

Yeah Rivers now Frawley left the club because of the great culture & fantastic environment ....honestly our club was deplorable & don't blame them for leaving....

I want to look fwd & confident of Roos & co will create a new breed & culture... But FFS when I read comments like this....I don't know which club you have followed since 08.... But an absolute train wreck was occurring under the snake oil salesman Schwab & Connolly who destroyed the culture & almost our club! Ask McLean why he left? Ask why the most of the players wanted out before Pj rescued our club & brought some sanity back! Ask Scully what happened on the China trip! Ask what would make Dunns mother ring up a radio station & dump on the club after the 148 loss to essendon... Ask what caused the 186 ...Yeah I'm sure the $$$ influenced his decision but I can assure the environment was deplorable...

Club was to blame for Scully....Our culture pre Pj & Roos was diabolical ... Don't blame him....

Just another disastrous event in our history of poor drafting...... We can only hope that our current coaches & new culture will get players like Toumpas to become great players ..... Whilst it's unfair to compare Wines it's frustrating as when we took Morton over Dangerfield ... One wonders even if they were picked would they have developed under the previous regime??? One thing to get early picks but if your culture & development are crap.......How would these same players have gone in a top club??

To think we now have to give up the farm to get him.... When we could have had him for nothing. & we pick Morton! I know hindsight is great but we have had too many failures @ early picks!

Can our previous list mgrs, recruiters & others be brought before the courts for negligence & duty of care for the absolute abysmal way of how they could overlook so much great talent along with our many early draft picks which have failed!

Why are we concerned of losing players....apart from the top 7-8 b&f & our recent early picks, the rest should be delisted or traded!

Different eras ... Free agency has changed it all.... Ultimately our club over the last 7yrs created a crap environment & players want to taste success... it's the club responsibility to create an environment were by players will want to stay .....Clark will never be right regardless of the club he plays for...

Do you blame Scully......with the tanking issues etc..... Junior Mac was treated poorly..... Our clubs history of handling players & culture is pathetic.....

Another failed top 20 pick .... How many is that since 2007??? Surely our past recruiters & development people should never be allowed to work in another afl club ever again.... wtf disgrace!

I'm all for Him getting his health issues in order.... But it's a kick in the guts for the MFC who gave up a pick to get him over & supported him during his tough times.... I think he needs to repay some faith to the MFC... Compensation from the AFL is in order if this happens!

Either all gone to other clubs...... Or delisted!

Great news For Jones... Shows his commitment & hard work! Good to see Roosy & co players they brought into the team Tyson 2nd & Vince 3rd, Cross 5th Dunn 4th re invented his career!

Very polished & strong foundations going forward with succession planning for both CEO & coach ... 1st time in history for the MFC.... Very honest assessment of past list mgt & makes a great point on free agency & raiding of talent from top clubs... Reality of it all is another rebuild of the list....

Not currently worth his price tag.... But no doubt will perform well in a top 4 team........ Free agency hey....this competition is turning into a EPl were only 4-6 teams will win flags as they will raid the best players.... I guess that's the even competition the Afl are talking about!

Read the vfl player reviews..... Sums up our list..... A lot of these guys have been in the system for 3+ yrs are struggling.....

Can't see Bomber waiting 2 years to take over....... What would he do ... Can't fit him in the coaches box..... 2 different Coaches... Would be great to have him in 2017 ... But I'd say his hunger for coaching may be gone by then...

Listen to what Roosy said.... The Gap between Playing @ afl std vs U18 is so huge! The mental toughness required & development to play at this std is huge & for them to be guns is another huge step! Only clubs that have great environments with development & culture seem to always get kids turning into good afl players... Hence Hawks , cats & swans you see young players doing so well... So please take a step back & ask is our club creating the environment for the young talent to develop???

Simply don't have the cattle....... Need to make crucial choices with our picks & get more class into our midfield to help Tyson, jones, Vince etc Hope that Hogan is ok in 2015....... Another fwd....

Honestly... The kid is in his 1st season & some of the posts wanting the kid to be a ball magnet match winner etc... FFS ! Young picks take 2-4 yrs to develop & play @ the highest level... It's the club responsibility to create an environment of development & culture to ensure these kids can be developed.... Which our club has been terrible at! Just ridiculous comments.... These questions need to be aimed @ seasoned players.... Salem has shown class & will become a great player under the correct environment!

Another rebuild is needed....we just simply dont have class... Premiership lists have 6-9 guns , strong culture, leadership. Roos will need to build the list & unfortunately want see the fruits of his labour...

Yes Roosy is accountable for the teams performance.....but ffs he inherited a train wreck, damaged goods & clearly players who are not afl standard... Look @ the players he brought in Tyson, salem, vince all doing well... Dunn playing great.... When will the players take responsibility for their pathetic efforts??? Im confident Roos & co will clear the decks & find, develop the right players! Judge him by 2016
