Natanui toweled him up last week in the WAFL something shocking.

But always good to have a back-up!

yes, cos natnaui is a freak.

If we had them both, I would have Warnock as number 1 ruck and Natanui as an Adam Goodes type player that can back up Warnock.

You have your faults Y_M but I love your imagination. If we could someohow pull that off then I'd be...well, let's just say it's a description of a place not fit for a forum where underages post on...

So out of that list, who can competently play a 'run and carry' game plan?

Nat's skill would have to improve of course but good call.

Exciting times ahead. Neitz, Holland and Yze at the least will retire, freeing up I would argue 1.2-1.5 million dollars depending on how their contracts are structured. Warnock would be great in the PSD but we have the money to sign an awesome out of contract player.

We will hav picks 1, 17 and 18

Green looks like he is going to have a great season. Trade him for an early second round pick. Alternatively, trade him and pick 18 for say pick from 6-12.

Bruce will have no value at the end of th year. Maybe late second round or early third round. No team is interested howwever in blokes that age.

Trade Robbo for a 3rd pick, but then again see ablove with Bruce.

No one else in this team that is dispensible is tradeable.

So we will have:

Pick 1, 8, 17, 35, 51 and 67 PLUS Pick 1 in PSD for awesome player.

I'm gettin' the shakes!

Cheers coxy! Replace Valenti with Garland in that case!

So, let me get this clear - A player who is absoluetly committed to MFC, has five years or more left to go, just broke into our top 20 all-time goalkickers, looks like he could be our second 300 game player...

AND, on the presumption that he has a great season...

You put these thing together and think - 'Awesome, we could have pick 23 for that!'

You, frankly, disgust me. For stupidity as well as disloyalty.

Bleh.

Errrr............. maybe a bit of creative license.

Naitanui had 27 hitouts (out of 39) and 10 touches, while Warnock had 25 hitouts (out of 48) and 8 touches.

Given that Guy Richards (Swan Districts' other ruckman) was out of the team and the second highest hitout count was 6 (by Tony Notte, a rake thin 192cm key forward), I would assume that Naitanui rucked pretty much all day. Keunen for West Perth had 13 hitouts (which is standard for him) so I assume that Warnock shared the ruck duties.

DD,

Don't get me wrong, I love Greeny, it breaks my heart that he is tradeable but do you relaize the enormity of this situation? Do you realize what's going on? We've bottomed out, we're stuffed, hammered, gone, vanquished, out of it, a million other expletives. We have to start again from the bottom, moreso than hawthorn did in 2004. And it's going to take a long, LONG time..by which time Greeny will be 30...and then what?

Blind love....get over it...these players have had their time in their sun and it is coming to an end. It's sad but true. We have to start again.

I h to agree with MFC4Life. Sure it's harsh, but look where being the nice guys has gotten us. It's time the MFC toughened up. Besides getting as much quality youth into the side is imperative over the next 2 years, coz we are re-building and the new teams are going to screw up the draft for a few years.

Imperitive this must be done.

And for everyone getting all sentimental about Green, yes he could be a star, however he is being played out of position. We would get a first round draft pick for Green, as we did Johnstone.

These are the tough decisions that should have been made 2 years ago.

cant believe im replying, but for all those green knockers get stuffed.

he is the mainstay of the team and shows more heart than id say 15 or so others in the team. if you are looking for players to offload that might have value look no further than Daniel Bell and Colin Sylvia.

bell has played a few good games, one i recall on scott welsh, but gets caught with the ball oh so many times, his decision making and foot skills are very poor, and he's too small to play key position.

sylvia is one of the few blokes with terrific foot skills on our list. but i worry about his skills above his shoulders. to me he has T.Johnstone written all over him, threatens to become an elite player but we're still waiting.

Brad Green will be another good player that Melbourne hangs onto so he can get to 250 games and we say 'what a great career, didn't win a flag but hey, that's not important because Brad Green was a one-club player'.

Put him in the sale window and see if we can get something decent for him. Top 20 pick otherwise i'll cheer his remaining years with gusto.

 ? ? ?

Green is one of our few first class players, performing amongst our best each week.

He's about to become one of only a handful of experienced players on our list.

He can contribute to the forward line which clearly needs all the help it can get right now.

I just... I'm not sure what to say... the idea of trading Green for 'a high second round draft pick' who might never play a game... it's just so daft it confuses me.

Posted

Love the enthusiasm, but 8 of that team have never played an AFL match, fair bow to claim they'll all be stars, let alone the ones we have seen.

Posted
Green won't be traded.

And neither will Bruce

I don't think anybody here honestly thinks they will. Some think they should, but that's another story.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
