Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Hi Guys,

I am a Narre Warren Resident, which is part of the city of Casey. I think I am about 20-25mins from Casey Fields. Not sure if it is a GOOD move, but a move is needed so we can have our own facilities. It would be great to have the dees out this way, I just feel the move is more made out of desperation rather than an actual desire to be based here. It is 40+ kms from the CBD, and i am sure many players reside in the CBD. Quite a trip for them to make just to train.

If it helps the club I am all for it.................................or is this just a band-aid move??

I never get out that way, but I thought that Narre Warren was only 5 minutes from Cranbourne?

Far far away.

Mind you, I live 10 minutes from Sandy and I never have the time to go watch training, so it makes no different to me where we train. As long as we keep playing at the MCG, and the Casey Fields deal brings us more members.

Berwick, so I am 10-15 minutes away.

If it is going to be just used as a training base in summer it will not make a pinch of difference to support. The amount of growth out here is crazy but people are not going to start following Melbourne just because we train in the off season near them. If we wholly moved out here and had practice games here and made a go of it we would pick up support, no doubt at all. But as we are going to have whatever it is going to be in Gosh's Paddock in 1.5 to 2 years, this is unlikely.

Thornbury, getting to the north game took over 2 hours.

If we were to play against interstate teams there (massive step but might happen) i think the club would need to set up some shuttle system to arrive when a train comes in and delivers supporters to the ground, because it's a fair hike!

Don't think they did it for Waverly (Hawks and Saints).

I don't think I've ever heard people that live in Bairnsdale etc complain about how far away Melbourne is to see a match/training. Don't see why someone who lives in Brunswick would complain about Cranbourne. Just jump on the Princes or Frankston and you're basically there

You think you're about 20-25 minutes from Casey Fields? Didn't you go to Casey Fields for the match against NMFC?

It would be a good move if the MFC can tap into the massive potential membership of new communities being established. Yes, most adults have their allegiance alreday, but their kids can be influenced by what happpens at school. There are over 22,000 kids in Casey aged less than 5, and they are can all be exposed to MFC through school over the next 5 years. They go home , they pester their families for MFC gear, and want to be taken to matches. Just watch the Casey Fields crowds grow for the NAB matches if MFC comes out to Casey and is playing.

I never get out that way, but I thought that Narre Warren was only 5 minutes from Cranbourne?

I'm in Narre Warren South, and I'm less than 10 minutes from Casey Fields. Depending on where you are in Narre Warren you might be as far away as 15 minutes at the most.

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
