Some new breath needed up front

Remove Neitz and go Newton, have Neita as 2nd forward, get Maric in and Robbo out, keep Davey up forward!!! Sylvia doesn't belong in the forward line, no matter what his fans think.

Someone speaking some sense... dont get me wrong im a massive neitz fan but if he was anyone else he would be dropped, not sure if newton is the answer but maybe try him one out no point leaving neitz down there if you are going to play newton. Davey must stay in the forward line id rather see him with 10 possions as a fwd then 25 as an onballer. Robbo sadly has to go, to slow.

Can anyone name a fwd line in the league that could be slower then ours?

Robbo was the worst Melbourne plyer on the ground yesterday by a mile! Terrible.

It was interesting to hear Bailey's post-match comments on Robbo's game.

He pointed out that Robbo has really excellent aerobic capacity and that he did, on a few occassions, run down to the backline to help out. Then he mentioned that we need more output from him and that it was disappointing that he didn't kick any goals (a rarity).

While he was better this week in the midfield I still wouldn't mind seeing Green playing up forward alot more. He can take a mark and is still a reliable and accurate kick for goal... I personally think he has more value as a forward than a midfielder.

Could he be an option? obviously not a KPP but another option none the less..

If need new breath I reckon we also need someone down back like a Stef Martin who might be able to at least compete with some of the monster sized opposition forwards like Buddy and Tomahawk. A tall down there with the capacity to punch the ball away or at least through goals might have helped us make up more than half of last week's deficit.

Neitz should retire on his own terms.

I still believe that Newton is better suited to FF. Quick on a lead, and clever (at times). But without an engine to shine at CHF.

Newton or Bate at FF. Some say Bate is useful in the middle. I say we should spread our talent and Bate is 193cm. He really should be looking to be a KPP.

Without knowing much about him what have we got to lose? Our forwardline is Neitz conscious, our delivery to Neitz was terrible today too. Robbo was just about worst on ground today, he provided nothing

Maric to me isn't working hard enough yet & so hasn't earnt the respect to be considered for promotion.

As well he's a talent in a small boys skin, Josh Hunt took Morton for a helicopter the other day, well we can't play Maric if it's windy or we may just loose him.

Where did Wonaemirri play on Sunday [sorry, was playing cricket so couldn't watch]

I think he was on a wing going forward. How do you know ,these days?

Who were you playing cricket for? Obviously a GF. How'd you go, Dee-reaming?

Thanks for asking JJC...played for the the Hume & Hovell Explorers V the Crusaders...and we won in a boilover.

DeeReaming bowled like a drain...managed to bowl a very unfortunate gent who was in two minds 4 or 6. My batting talents were not required.

Injury News from Demonlanders involved:

DeeReaming: Hamstring: Test

Prodigal Son: Knee : Long Term Injury List

Back to the Footy, Wonaemirri, how did you rate his performance?

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th
