A few weeks ago I would've just about given my right hand to snare Judd. With the situation unfolding as it has, I would just about give it to see that [censored] go to Richmond, and those smarmy bastards at Carlton wind up with zilch.

Agreed. As far as opposition teams go, I'm generally pretty apathetic when it comes to Richmond. Don't hate them as much as the McPies or Carlton, don't have a softish spot for them like maybe Hawthorn.

If they screw Carlton and nab Judd, they'll be my no 2 team!

Amongst the Vic teams, I've always had a soft spot for Richmond. I don't understand it, but suspect it might be something to do with my love affair with Mark Coughlan before his injury run. I rate him very, very highly and thought he could have been a champion, prior to his knees. I think it's definitely fair to say that Carlton have come to rival Collingwood in the 'teams I effing hate' category. Some would argue it's jealousy, but I would suggest that the integrity of the game is at stake, when a sugar daddy can just take the presidency, pump money into the club and buy a flag. If they were to miss out on Judd then it would go some way to proving that our system still levels the playing field, more or less.

What if the Eagles offered to trade {insert dud eagles player here} to the Tiges for Pick 2 and {insert dud tigers player here}?

In return they let Judd go to PSD.

Then it comes down to who the Tigers would rather deal with.

As you say I can't believe Richmond's cap is any tighter than Carlton's.

Hahahaha. I was just thinking this. West Coast could play a similar game to Carlton. Poor Richmond. They're like the diminutive nerd at school, and the bullies are fighting over who gets to copy his assignment and [censored] his lunch money.

They won't sign a legally binding document as there will then be proof, they tampered with the system. The AFL will come down on the 2 clubs like no tomorrow. If Carlton want to play sleazy, they'll have to settle for a gentlemen's handshake and hope to god Richmond don't shaft them.

There is always a loophole that can be used.

Plus draft selections can be considered subjective in that every clubs opinouns and needs differ. Even though Judd is widely considered the best player in the comp if the Tigers sign a document that states they believe Chris Judd is not a good fit for their club at this time and ensure they will draft someone else how could that be considered draft tampering. Thats their opinoun and they have a right to express it regardless of how wrong or unlikely it is.

If Tigers and Blues collaborate appropirately they can stick it to the Eagles big time and personally I think its great.

and if the eagles know they are to get shafted by these 2 clubs they might turn around and trade to the next best offer, which is us

That would then depend on Judd's "almost famous" integrity.

Weagles will tell Judd, Carlton and Richmond are trying to screw us over. MFC's giving us a good offer, will u play for them?

Will Judd say yes or go through the PSD and totally stuffing up the club thats being good to him for the last 6 years?

Richmond are holding ALL the cards here. Nisbett is adamant that Weagles will not deal for less than Pick 1, and Carltron are adamant that Pick 1 is not for sale. Carlton's behaviour is repugnant, and that's being kind. Judd is worth pick 1 and 3 easily. If Carlton can get away with 1, 20 and Kennedy it is still highway robbery in my mind. Yet they won't deal. 3, 20 and Bower is Grand Larceny.

Richmond must surely hate Carlton more than West Coast, and I think Greg Swann, whilst struggling to control the tent that has pitched itself in his pants since Tuesday, has failed to realise this. The way he arrogantly touts his 'plan B' is simply despicable. If the stalemate remains, the football world would LAUD Richmond for maintaining a spine and shafting those Carlton wankers.

I would be in rapture if Richmond took Carlton's offer and then still snared Judd. I would go out on a celebratory bender to rival Geelong's. But I doubt it. Richmond won't do a deal then screw Carlton, much as it would satisfy everyone. Expect any attempt by Richmond to pursue it's interest in Mitch Morton to be more than meets the eye, however. I can't see West Coast doing a deal with Richmond one day, without some guarantee that the same club wasn't going to be part of an almight 'Up yours West Coast' the next.

PS. I know I said Richmond was akin to the diminutive nerd before. They still are. But if the nerd is willing to endure a bit of a beating to make sure at least one of the bullies get's an F, he maintains the integrity of the classroom.

Think you will find Blues will get Judd for Picks 3 and 20 and Kennedy or a substitute player as I told you about 3 weeks ago. I don't think there is anything illegal with the Carlton suggestion of involving Richmond. PSD picks can't be traded but of course ND ones can. The sticking point will be that Richmond won't want to be seen as helping Carlton screw another team out of their best player. The wheel comes around. More likely they will sit back and be prepared to take Judd themselves if no deal is done to trade him. I disagree with Fan on one thing, he says he will hate Carlton if they screw WCE. Well I "already" hate them and wish them position 12 on the ladder for the next 20 years.

This won't be a popular post, but had the Blues not tanked round 22 we would have pick 2 and have had more of a shot at this one, even assuming Judd had selected the Blues as preferred.

C'mon DD, turn it up mate.

Carlton didn't tank, we were just the superior team on the day

Besides haven't we all been told from a very reliable source that "tanking" just doesn't exist ;):P !!!

to be honest...Id be loathe to cough up pick 1. i would have thought 3, 20.and someone was in all reality a doable thing.

For sure West Coast can play hard ball, but why are they then surprised if carlton play harder. I seem to recall that WCE and carlton had been talking for a while before Judd selected scumland !! so what changed.. I have the feeling its actually WCe who may have renegged on a vrebal agreement to take 3, 20 and someone !! Of course its all conjecture, but why has it suddenly gone belly up...only can be because someone has changed position. carlton all along said #1 wasnt an option. So make of it all what you will.

and

cliche # whatever !%@

Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive !!!! lol

Whilst I dont condone entirely what carlton is up to.. I almost begrudgingly admire their determination.

One thing Carlton dont do , is they dont muck around. ( still hope they fall in a hole...lol )

And we also lost pick 18 as well which would have been very handy. Even without Judd we would have been far better off. I note our Coach is now an assistant at Carlton, hmmmm !

Maybe this is all for show for WCE supporters so that WCE can say we tried everything and that was the best we could do or lose him for nothing. I still think the deal has been done. 3,20 and Kennedy or another player.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
