SCARLETT and CHAPMAN

I thought Scarlett or Chapman deserved the Norm Smith medal ahead of Johnson. What a brilliant defender is Scarlett in the way he turns defence into attack time and time again. Chapman also is a wonderful player and never wastes the ball. I reckon we could win a premiership IF we could have these two in our team alongside Juddy. I am dreaming of course! Thank you Cats for removing our unwanted record of being the biggest ever loser in a GF.

Johnson was just as deserving. Could've raffled it really. Geelong were as awesome as Port were pathetic.

Agree Nasher.

Geelong were truly awesome today. They were damaging with the ball and were electrifying when they pressured Port out of it.

Textbook Grand Final football.

When a team gets flogged by 20 goals its a bit rich to single out the losing sides forward line. It was not good but geez the Port lack of midfield or defence deserves a greater bake.

If ever a team had the sting and the humilation to come back in 2008, its Port. A real test of the character that was exposed as imposters today.

Johnson's efficiency in his 23 touches was what won it for him. Far ahead in the afl.com.au rankings at the end of the game. Johnson did most of his work when the game was up for grabs.

And I am not being biased just because he is my best mate's cousin and we both had $50 on him at $22!!!!!! for the norm smith. I love Grand Final week!!!!

Absolutely. I tipped Johnson at 3/4 time and a mate (Geelong supported) thought Chapman. Those two plus Scarlett probably the standouts in a very even team performance.

FWIW, I had Johnson ahead of the others because he was the dominant player on the ground in the first quarter and a half when the game was there to be won.

Personally I thought Johnson would get it.

Thought he had an awesome day out, but so did several other Cats.

But there can only be one winner!

I don't care what anyone says. Chapman is Geelong's best player....

He would have won the Norm Smith if he had played every minute of the game. He seems to be rested for 5 minutes every quarter.

Chapman is a gun and i just hope Jonsey turns out like him.

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form
