Demons 32

Recommended Posts

Hi fellow Judd enthusiasts. I have been talking lately of Judd not coming to the Demons, however I just received an e-mail from someone who is a good friend of my Father who has began to change my tune.

This man (for you who can try and work it out) is on the Melbourne Coterie Group (he's the one that got the money to get Davey off the Rookie list) and one of the richest guys in Melbourne and really well connected in business, so plenty of clout.

He has said he is 100% on getting Judd to Melbourne and will give the club as much financial support as he can to help get Judd. If a few more extremely wealthy business men step up like this guy has then I'll be feeling much closer to changing my tune.

Just thought I would fill my fellow Demonlanders in on any news I receive.

I spoke to Judd last night at his favorite restaurant, Hungry Jacks

He assures me that his groin is indeed located between his legs and that the moon is not made of cheese

Thanks for at least taking notice of the point!!! Most replies on here have made me see that it's pointless putting up what you have been told. Even if they are from higher ups, im lucky enough to at least know some so I'll try to only mention things that some no idea jurno said considering thats who people for some reason take seriously.

Thanks though buddy.

Hey dude, don't worry about the cynics, any updates regarding Chris Judd are much appreciated.

It's been a long time since I've been so excited at this stage of a finals series! Hypothetically, If the number 4 pick were to help the Dees land Judd, would that completely offset the poor year on the field we (the fans) had to endure?

I wouldn't even know the year happened.

Don't get dissillusioned; it's human nature to be cynical or gullible at the same time. Being a cynic myself its impossible to know who, or whether to believe any... "I heard from a good source comments."

As the poster who stated with certain acclaim that "SHEEDY IS SIGNED AND SEALED"... WHAT DOES ONE REALLY KNOW? and "WHO" is the correct person to take notice of???

To the poster who said Collingwood's a done deal through as G Walsh said so why doesn't he take the $10 available yesterday and retire. ($3.50 now)

All I personally know is that speaking to Craig Cameron on one of his "guernsey sponsor trips" months ago that he would sell the store to get him.

$9.00 on Melbourne is good odds though!!!

That worries me.

As much as I really really really really really (x100) want Chris Judd at the Dees, I don't want him at any cost.

There are 3-4 players that I am not willing to part with, not even for Judd, as it will leave us a weaker team. While Judd is brilliant, he still needs a good team around him (as proven by West Coast). If we go and trade some of our best kids to get him, he'll be doing it on his own and failing. I think Judd is aware of that, and he wants success more than probably anything else.

Additionally, West Coast have a big salary cap issue IMO. They have already told Chick they won't offer him another contract, and they already have plenty of young up and coming stars that they will need to try and keep. That is why they're after draft picks, rather than players. That will give them some breathing space for at least 2 or 3 seasons.

Not his favourite anymore

He'll be a Melb boy next year; he better change over to Subway or Nando's real quick!

Anyhoo, I already had no doubt MFC would be trying 100% to get him. But if we have outsiders throwing money and incentives at him while teams like Collingwood and Essendon are throwing things actually from the club themselves, how does that make us look? I think go with what we have and we'd have a better chance. I really don't think it's about money for this guy.

The only thing I hope is that we do go all out to get him. It's about time Melbourne was the one the media was talking about in a postive way, as opposed to bagging us for having "little to no immediate prospects for success". I'm sick opf it always being about the "big four" clubs, for god's sake, we ARE Melbourne, and it's about time the club did something big (like landing Judd) and stopped being the doormat for the rest of the competition. We didn't even get the chance to announce Bailey as the coach, it would be bloody nice to annouce Judd as our latest recruit!

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.
