Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I wouldnt be scared

We could get a fair bit for him

Kind of exciting actually

Buit I reckon a new coach would deal Bruce or Green before Travis

really, what do you think a club would give up for him? I can't see us getting a top 10 pick for him. I think he is a lot for valuable then is market price

If you couldn't get a top 10 pick for him (or the equivalent), there wouldn't be a point. Same goes for Bruce and Green.

If Travis was consistent the calls to trade him would have never existed.

I love watching him when on song, but on the whole he still plays below what he could really do.

Under a new coach, and with McLean, Jones, Sylvia, Moloney, Bruce and Green all fit and taking the oppositions attention away from solely tagging him, we may see the best of him, and if we do he could easily win the Brownlow.

You just watch how evasive he is, he isn't super strong or quick, he just has incredible vision and the best footskills in the team and I'd say the best field kick in the AFL for accuracy.

Travis Johnstone is easily my favourite Melbourne player to watch

Watching him is like being on a rollercoaster

When Travis gets the ball on the Member’s wing with space between himself and the city end goals of the G, there is no better sight in football.

We cannot trade a player like travis as we need a strong outside midfielder to complement the young insiders currently developing. i only hope the new coach sees things my way

It's an interesting proposition.

Do you dare trade the problem child, with the unique talent?

He is, without a shadow of a doubt, the most skillful player we have. He's probably on par with some of the best in the league.

That alone, makes me nervous to trade him, especially given our obvious lack of skills across the board.

He is also a match-winner, and we haven't got a lot of those either.

However, his currency would be quite high, and rightfully so. If we put him on the trade table, we might get something really great for him. If we don't, he'll stay. It's a win-win.

Having said that, there are other, less damaging senior players I'd like to see gone before TJ.

You may well get a top 10 draft pick for him. For all we know that top 10 pick may well turn out to be Luke Molan Mk 2. Or Luke Ball who despite his class looks completely stuffed. They are not all guns & precious few of them are ready made players.

I can't recall too many sides being successful by trading their best players to improve their lot. Even Hawthorn, the model that the media would have us all adopt, only gave away dead wood. Rawlings, whose knee was buggered, Hay, whose head was buggered & Thompson who was not without his issues. What a seller's market that was. Didn't see them offering Crawford up though.

Trav is the type of player you try and get to your club in trade period, so I cant see it happening.

He showed us last night how much hes been missed this year.

we need players with good footskills. if you want to build a team to win premiership, good kicking skills is vital.

Thats why in all this talk about trading a high profile player like Green, Johnstone or Bruce, id much rather keep green and johnstone bc they have good skills.

Bruce is a great player, but is an ordinary kick. it makes him more dispensible than a johnstone imo

Was brilliant on the weekend. He usually gets kudos for his skills, as he rightfully should, but another pleasing aspect of his game was the fact he had 7 tackles, the most of any player on the team! Lead disposals, inside 50s, and tackling. Great game. We are a much better side with him out there, whether he is performing miracles or not.

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
