Meh.

If Y_M is correct, and he always is  , than that's great.

Yze is very talented and he should be helping the side win. That's what he's paid for.

Nobody here has ever claimed that Yze can't play football. Unfortunately for him, there is more to being a good footballer than being able to kick banana goals.

265 games at an average of 18, mostly useful, disposals, 4 marks a game, 2 tackles, 229 goals.

icon of the club through his skill and demeanour.

what player with those stats would not be considered a club great?

I'm embarrassed that Yze is called an MFC great. How low can the threshhold be?

Next time he wins a game off a magical goal from his own boot you better not cheer.

Will it be a hard ball get, a contested body on body possession or another easy receive or soft ball get?

Its an indictment on this Club's supporters that we eulogise players as champions who are selfish non team orientated downhill skiers.

Rhino, can you tell me how many times the so called "mediocre" has finished in the top 10 of the Bluey Truscott Trophy?

I hope the Ooze comes back in 2008 fully rested and fully fit under the new coach and makes you eat your words.

Jack, I have amended my comment prior to your question as my amendment more aptly captures my thoughts on this.

I dont rate Top 10 Bluey finishes for a player with Yze's skills who short cuts on the delivery of that. His laziness and selfishness have wasted his god given talents and its too late to change that.

I have been waiting for Yze to make me eat my words since early 2004......You know what he has only confirmed my initial doubts. Its gets worse each year

In 2008, beyond fully fit and rested under new coach I would hope the new Coach will educate Yze that he focusses on TEAM and not ME.

True Yze is not someone who will go get the hard ball, or chase that much, but how many times has he killed the filth pretty much of his own boot? if he comes back to his beat and can atleast put on some pressure and chase i will welcome him back, but if he stands in the FP and watches his opponent run the ball out without even glancing in his direction, well then i will call for his head.

Yze's skills have never and will never be in question.......

He is one of the most gifted ball players we have on our list, and has more ability in his little finger than most guys do in their entirety.

The problem I have with Adem is summed up pretty well by Rhino here.

It is an attitude problem and it is something that seems to make him shy away from hard work and team orientated moves.

And that is something I have less tolerance for than skill issues (skills can, or should be able to be improved, but the lack of an on-field work ethic is another thing)

Now, I would love for him to prove me completely and utterly wrong, to make me eat my words and my opinion in 2008. I genuinely hope that a new coach can install a new and vastly improved attitude, or at least hold him accountable for a poor attitude next season, but sorry I am not going to hold my breath  !!!

Fair call QC.

However it is not the coach that is going to make him more accountable. Its Yze. I cant see it happening at 30/31 yo. He has spent so many years cheating the one % and team rules by relying on his special talents. Unfortunately, they have been dissolving over the past 3 to 4 years. He struggled at AFL level this year. He will next year.

Dont be surprised if Yze is no longer around next year. I fear his amazing streak of consecutive games has finally taken its toll on his body. He has been an amazingly brilliant player to watch. Yes he can be selfish (as can Robbo) but when you have the abiliy to kick those amazing freakish goals and lightup the G why not have a crack? I reckon 7-8 out of 10 times Adem bags the "impossible" goal and has taken countless mark of the year quality grabs. If he was a bird I'd probably boof him j/k Sometimes a great Yze goal has sparked a flurry of goals or fired his teammates up to play more agressive and more watchable accountable footy.

Love the bloke. Gee I hope he plays on Maybe he will play on and have more of a cameo as Bate Newton and Davey develop into the quality players that their potential seems to indicate. I just beg for a coach that can instill the right work ethic and bring back our badass attitude Oh yeah and while I'm on a roll For freak sake put Green up forward for a bit, he is a gun load him up and let him shoot a few.

On song Ooze is quite mecurial. Undoubtedly talented he plays to an audience. I really cant see him taking too much of centre stage any longer. A new coach, new kids, new culture..... If Danners read the writing on the wall then Adem might do well to take a good look also.

Hes a bit like having the icing without the cake. He's had his time in the sun, its as simple as that, and the icing's melted a bit too.

    BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin

At the time, he was on his way to many personal honours and the club in strong finals contention. When the season did end for Melbourne and Petracca was slowly recovering, he was engulfed in controversy about a possible move of clubs amid claims about his treatment by the club in the immediate aftermath of his injury. LIVE AND LET DIE by Meggs

The Demons’ impressive late season charge to finals will most likely come unstuck this Saturday evening when the Bombers blow up the also-ran Blues in the Ikon Park double-header.   To mangle McCartney, what does it matter to ya? To have any chance to play next week Narrm has got a job to do and needs to do it well.  We’ve got to give the Pie sheilas hell, say live and let die! It’s Indigenous Round for this game and the chance to celebrate and engage with Aboriginal and Torres
