Thanks but it keeps asking me to select a seat?

Are you on AFL app or Ticketek app?

Need to do it on AFL app.

After you select our game, click on "view tickets" and a barcode will pop up that you can scan at gate.
Also be given the option to add to your wallet if you prefer

In today's The Age, in the Stats that Matter which you can find with each teams' selections it says, "It (Melbourne) has scored over 100 points in all four wins - with 202 points scored in these matches - ranked third". Can anyone explain what that means?

would be the aggregate wouldn't it? eg 102-80 or 110-92

Saw that.

Average of aggregate game scores (227, 177, 198, 206).

An inferred (unstated) stat, about our (team) defence, that offsets The Age's stated 'Stat That Matters'

I think this is going to be a tight game.

Setting the tone early is so key. Would love to see Steele, Koz, Spazz or others lay some crunching tackles early.

Well played working that out Timothy. But I'm not sure it's a great stat to be third in, effectively it's suggesting that whilst we kick a strong score,so does the oppo. I'd rather we belt them and have a [censored] aggregate game score and a strong margin which is actually what we get measured by on the ladder.

Yep. Like minds, Harmesy, per my 3rd para 🙂.

Even better, of course, would be 'belt them / strong margin / [NOT-censored] aggregate'! 😁

I know I sound like a broken record…. Respect all, fear none’

Strangely, I’m less nervous about tonight than I was prior to the Essendon game.

Couldn’t make it to the Brisbane game last week. Atmosphere sounded terrific. Hoping it continues for tonight

GO DEES

Thanks JTR

I edited my rely.

Yes I was going through the "buy tickets" on the match day section which was taking me to Ticketek. As you kindly said I had to go the three dots to AFL membership.

Such joy but hopefully worth the reward. Buying Test match tickets in India was simpler

Beautiful weather

Some clear communication from the MCC might result in another 10k rolling up tonight.

Instead we have a digital nightmare.

All they have to say is GA available in Bays X, Y and Z. AFL members used to have a link saying what part was unreserved but alas no more

link is here: https://am.ticketmaster.com/afl/aroundthegrounds

(you may need to be logged in order to access the link)

expected afl member walk-up bays for tonight...

Bay M26 | Rows A - Z

Bays Q15 - Q21 | Rows K - DD

Bays Q22 - Q28 | All rows

Poor attitude is the only way we lose this. Richmond stink to begin with, but on top of that are missing their best mid, best small forward, don’t have a ruckman, their only good key forward is undercooked, and their morale is at rock bottom.

Yes I am accurately aware of the Essendon game, but Richmond are an order of magnitude less competitive, and I’m trusting the right lessons have been learned.

Put them to the sword please, Dees.

We are firm favorites and full of confidence after bowling over the reigning premiers . Tonight playing the winless bottom of the ladder team in the tigers, this should be easy.

Two weeks prior, we knocked over top of the ladder, Suns. Then inexplicably lost to Essendon, the weak after. A team that hadn't notched a win in over 16 games ( so much for confidence).😭

And despite losing to them at the Adelaide Oval we used to have a good record there.

So I wouldn't bet a great deal on a positive result tonight even though we should walk it in.

We have lost games too often, that we should have won easily. Maybe we get over confident?

We certainly have the wood over the tigers in this big event. Despite the lack of tradition compared to the original, I envision this evening game eclipsing the other one. Within the next five years even.

While only attending two, there is just something about the night atmosphere with the phones as candles and solemnity of the darkness. And as silly as this statement sounds the moment of silence, seems well how does one put it....ummmmm...." a lot more silent".

It's hard to explain. I've been to only one of the pies v dons games but my best attempt is....it feels that the moment of silence or reflection or whatever it's called or meant or is ......seems more poignant in the dark. The significance of the sacrifice and loss and courage and so many other things seems to be felt more. Well at least by me. I was particularly close to my grandfather who lived a very long life, despite almost being killed four times in the battles in the Somme. So this could have something to do with it.

I don't know how to explain this or why either. It's a feeling rather than intellectual. You have to experienced it.

Then again it could just be the simple yobbo factor of a few pies supporters saying something useless or inappropriate at this stage of the proceedings.

All I can say is ....one kind of feels the silence and mood more in the dark than in the day.

Or simply maybe just my specialist increasing my ankolylising spondolitis medication and the inevitable insomnia that goes with it.😄

@@@@@@@@@@I

If this sentiment or babble connects with anyone at all, in anyway whatsoever ????????? I'd really appreciate your feedback. Thanks.

@@@@@@@@@@@

Anyway back on track, I do see this as a danger game given our unique talent to drop games, when we are very clear favourites.

So I'm super confident on a win.

I wasn't against Essendon either. But despite the insurance and sadness protection, it goes against my entire grain to bet on the opposition. I could have been a very rich man otherwise.😭

Interesting that the tigers have five new ins. Will that be a factor in regards to us tiring more? And Jiath isn't like for like re Petty. But for reasons still not decisive, Petty did have a shocker. So any player in, is an improvement from this perspective.

I'm hoping that Jvr steps up and kicks more than that spectacular opening six and especially hoping Jeffo plays his best game ever with at least three goals and a lot of assists.

Max to dominate and improve on his zero marks last week ( yet he still played a big part in beating the lions) and the Pickett duo to have a night out.

I believe that Latrelle has all the makings of a superstar and he stays a Demon forever as does KP.

A wonderful duo of Batman and......um....um....I suppose, I guess Batman again. I feel like these sort of games are where these two will shine and dominate all three opponents placed upon them each time. And Fritta's left boot to be finely tuned and fiddling away every quarter.

Worth the price of a ticket, for sure.

I used a cricket metaphor above, so in the same spirit....like Sir D. Bradman, some people go to a game just to witness a certain player/s level of ability and skills.

I have, will and do again. Especially for two batmen and only one ticket.

I've changed my tune and song....Im going to be over confident....no realistic. The mighty M.F.C. by at least ten goals.

Like a walk in the park.

But the best park in the world and home to the greatest football club in the world.

The mighty Dees.

That’s how I feel paying tax

Some of your taxes go towards helping children get through cancer.

All of the $3.90 you give to Ticketek goes to what? Some consultant suggesting "What if before they confirmed the ticket purchase we asked if they wanted to take out a wine subscription, join a pyramid scheme, get involved in a time-share syndicate or purchase a garden gnome in team colours? And then we timed them out if they took too long?"

Essendon have showed a fair bit in recent weeks and I think the loss to them won't be as harshly judged later in the year. I actually think they'll beat Collingwood tomorrow.

Richmond however are a significantly poorer side with very few senior players. A loss to them will be incredibly deflating.

Speaking of the MCC, I sincerely hope the scarf waving from last week is a thing now, as well as the noise coming from that area. We could see and hear them and it was spectacular. I hope it wasn’t just because of the “Irish” music playing after goals.

I'm not an MCC member, but I sit in the MFC members nearby.. was loud last week and everyone really getting behind the team. I like the scarf waving, for a game with the Jig, but I think ongoing it's a but much especially if you don't win.

King is not Goodwin. King will learn from the Essendon game not just talk about it.

Hopefully he has a bit of Goodwin about him and can win us a flag

Anticipating a full rousing dose of “Hells Bells” * this evening. “Eye of the Tiger” by ‘Survivor’ says a fair bit. Angus, Bon … boys get it done.

Ghosty do you need an allocated seat to sit near the cheer squad tonight?

Such a silly stat in isolation. A team that wins by 227 points (i.e., 227-0) will have the same aggregate as a team that wins 114-113 (i.e., 1 point).

The bays on either side of us are GA. Our bay (M33) is ticketed and all seats are booked.

We cheer and chant and wave stuff all through the game, regardless of the score. I wouldn’t expect the same level from any other section of spectators but it’s not too much to ask for some animation and enthusiasm after goals, surely.

I really hate playing winless sides this deep into a season as you know they are going to jag one eventually….not tonight though

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.
