COACHES VOTES: Round 6

Featured Replies

I havent started one of these threads for a few years but we have a positive ledger so couldnt help myself.

Votes Player (Club)

8 Harris Andrews (BL)

8 Kade Chandler (MELB)

8 Harvey Langford (MELB)

3 Lachie Neale (BL)

2 Charlie Cameron (BL)

1 Kysaiah Pickett (MELB)

Assume Andrews gets 4,4 from the coaches and Chin/Langford get the 5,3 for either Fagan or Kingy

Neale with the 2,1 and Charlie with the other 2 and Kozzy with the other 1.

Pity Gawny was left out but i think he would have been next in line.

Hard to argue with those votes

Great to see the young blokes dominating games

Given it was only a 2pt win, totally fair. Andrews was good.

I also struggled with BOG, but for me it was Chandler by a chin over Langford

I'll see myself out.

Both coaches very fair.👍

6 Chin

5 Disco

4 Langford

3 Lingers

1 Mihocek

1 Rooh

1 Howes

In the (unlikely) event that I’m being completely unbiased, that’s probably close to how I would have awarded votes.

With my red and blue glasses on (but slightly out of focus), I would have had Tholstrup or Lingers ahead of Cameron.

Very fair votes. Langdon was better than Pickett imv but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It breaks Gawn's streak of 10 consecutive games polling coaches votes. Very happy for Chandler and Langford and Harris Andrews is an absolute champion of the game and without him Brisbane lose that game by 5 goals.

Gawn was still very good but was not in our very top few, and we got the win over a quality opponent playing well.

The future we can hope for in 2027-28.

(Nice out here, innit RBMB)

Harris Andrews certainly is a key to their defence - though our guys upfield did help his cause by insisting on passing straight to him 🙄

Carlton v Collingwood

10 Nick Daicos (COLL)
6 Oliver Florent (CARL)
4 Jamie Elliott (COLL)
3 Patrick Lipinski (COLL)
3 Harry Perryman (COLL)
2 Sam Walsh (CARL)
2 Darcy Cameron (COLL)

Craig McRae. He’s the new Chris Scott. Pies barely beat the Blues. Barely!!

McRae votes : N Daicos 5, Elliott 4, Perryman /Lipinski 3, Florent 2, Cameron

Voss: N Daicos 5, Florent 4, Perryman/Lipinski 3, Walsh 2, Cameron 1

@spirit of norm smith are you just guessing how each coach voted?

Are we guessing it was the coaches?

Wonder if Voss made it a priority with all that was going on last Friday night.

i actually think both coaches gave 4 votes to harris. The 5 was where they were undecided.

The Demons are back on the road again for the third time this season when they take on the red hot ladder leaders the Sydney Swans at the SCG. Can the Demons take another big scalp? Who comes in and who goes out?

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
