Not knocking the suggestions, but i often wonder what internal targets they put on someone like Laurie.

Every time he plays he seemingly has 'nearly moments', hasn't quite taken the chances as yet.

If he slotted that goal on the weekend would you have looked at him differently? Couple of turnovers but he wasn't alone there, Langford made up for his though.

I would be curious to see some of his running stats but it seems Telstra Tracker (to my knowledge) only has the top 5.

Looking at the Stats he did pop up have some contribution.

  • Defensive Half Pressure Act - 2

  • Pressure Acts - 10

  • Tackles - 2

  • Tackles inside 50 - 1

  • Score Involvements - 3

Not advocating for / against him, just curious how he's viewed internally.

Not sure about internally, but my guess, along with few others....

Is that it takes time to get comfortable with the pace of the big league.

It looks to me like he is rushing his disposal, even when he has a bit of more time or space than he thinks.

I reckon he will relax after a solid 3=4 game stretch , and show a lot more composure..

Like Tholstrup, Sharp and Latrelle, they all took a bit to settle.

I definitely would not write him off anyway. He played 2 tough games, which we won both in hard fought contests. He is hard at the ball, the polish will hopefully come soon.

Sorry if it’s been covered earlier in the thread…

Is this game sold out? Will there be GA tickets available? I can’t find anything much on Ticketek, but I find it hard to believe there won’t be seats available.

As a tridents member I was surprised to see that a reserved seat in the outer on level 1 for this game is an additional $38. If that's definitely the case then I think I'll take my chances with the hoi polloi on level 4 which is general admission I think.

Rab, As a paid up member of the blue and red collar of the ‘hoi polloi’. T’was pleasantly surprised to find general admission Level 1 section M55 seating for my family entourage of six. All allocated on my Demon Diaspora interstate membership.

Anzac Eve Onwards and Upwards…

Double up Demons!

Hi THBT. My understanding is that most of level 4 is GA and if that's the case I will attempt to snaffle seats up there in the Ponsford Stand. Perhaps others in the know about these things can clarify if that's correct?

Demon Diaspora is a great name for an interstate or overseas membership. Or did you just make that up? I don't think you could ever be regarded as hoi polloi however TC.

Just went to the AFL site.

How do you find out these days if a game is fully ticketed.

I prefer to just roll up (AFL member)

Thanks

TMac is slow and in his last year, but we are trying to win games and if he helps us win…

We have enough kids in the team tbh

I'm hearing you but I'm finding the turnover of the list exciting and refreshing

It's not about 2026...it's getting ready to win another premiership in 2028/9

T Mac is blocking development

He's a great guy, but he's done

I had a quick look on ticketek and there are very few if any GA seats available. even on Level 4

They don’t put all GA bays on Ticketek. They will announce whatever bays are walk up GA 24 hours prior to the game on the MCG website. If GA tickets on ticketek have sold enough as well as club membership GA tickets they would’ve put something out around now to say that it’s a fully ticketed event and you need to upgrade to a reserve seat but as they haven’t announce anything I think they’ll be plenty of GA 😊

Hmm that does not sound good.

TBH I'm hypothesising based on Ghosty's reports last week. But could be way off the mark.

A few posters have queried likely attendance. I'm tipping a max of 75k based on 2024 - 72,840 (their home game) and 71,635 last year.

In 2024 we were on 5 wins, Tigers on one win. Last year it was two wins each of two.

As reported, they've been decimated by injuries.

My expected: 12 goal win to the juggernaut.

Yes, but if he keeps a kid from having to be exposed then he is worthwhile.

The development of the kids is only aided by Mihocek and Steele but I know there were nuffies on here saying we shouldn’t bother for 31/32 year olds and play the kids.

TMac playing so far this year may have meant Howes could play a more suited role. Perhaps it has already paid dividends?

Only one change for me Petty ( who I don't expect will play again for a while) for anyone but T Mac who is done sorry to say. Expect the Bermuda Triangulation Tall Forward line of Roo, Brody and El Jeffo to form part of a hard to match up tall combo, add to that the enigmatic Frittata, an exuberant Latrelle and a break out Chandler with Pace agent Sharp and an unharnesable Kossy, that spells danger for any defence!

I think King likes this option A LOT!

I could not agree more, Tmac is still needed. I never understand this “play the kids” mantra that goes around. You should only play kids if they can be sheltered from being exposed as not ready and destroying their confidence when they are badly beaten. Our current defence is not as good as it was a couple of years ago but it is still better than most, we played Taylor for his first game, he played an average game but there were good players around him who could cover up his weaknesses and he was not thrust into carrying a weak defence. Anyone playing any team sport learns nothing from be total out classed. Richmond are a team with few seasoned good players but the team is full of kids, what did they learn from being trashed by north melbourne? I would suggest very little but there are many people queuing their talent or lack of. Richmond needs seasoned players who help the kids mature. Just throwing kids into a weak team just halts their development.

Is Kentfield a serious option as a backmen? With TMac nearing the end and Petty possibly sidelined for a block of games there’s an opening if we decide to go tall. It would mean Heath would likely come out as well opening up a spot for Lindsay to return. I don’t understand those wanting XTaylor out, the kids got class and needs some games. As for Windsor being dropped, unless he’s injured he plays. And then there’s the one and only LPickett, this guy just makes me happy. At some point soon enough he’s going to lay down a 20+ possession, 3 goal game and everyone else will notice.

Out: Petty, Heath

In: Kentfield, Lindsay
