GAMEDAY: Rd 04 vs Gold Coast

Loving this football. We're having a dip and cracking into every ball. Forward 50 tackling might be the best we've had in years.

You have to remember the players have been told to take the game on, their going to make mistakes. But when it all clicks watch out AFL.

When was the last time an umpire went off with concussion and subbed off? If given the chance, someone “accidentally” concuss 22 and [censored] him the right off.

Cheating [censored]. The cheating is out of control.

Regardless of what happens in last q, the lid is off as far as I’m concerned. How good are we to watch?!

Finish them off boys. Great effort so far today!

Sharp, Langdon and Chandler shining as the game goes on, and they will be vital in this last quarter. We are the better side so far.

Steele and Gawn since quarter time

wow!

Brilliant to watch some youthful errors but the run is a delight

So good to watch!!! A fun, young team having an absolute crack. We’re gonna be a menace and genuine pain in the rear for a lot of teams this year. Love

To the Dees at the ground, cheer hard and boo harder at the umps and the Suns. We are up to our necks in this and Dimwitt ain't happy in the box.

The great thing is when they do make them they go again. No-one is dropping the heads. Ive never been happier to make mistakes haha

Regardless of the final result Jack Steele has been epic today.

I’m booing the umps as hard as I can QD. They deserve it

Sharp loves Kingys game style!

who can catch him!?

I know I should be.more positive but it's frustrating. We should have this in the bag.

Credit given but our goal kicking and slow starts have stopped that.

Then there are constant non frees given.

But hopefully it will make the win so much sweeter.

I think Salo has made a few clangers but been quite good.

As mentioned in that quarter ...Petty and Sparrow got going.

Max loves a goal.

I think Milkshake will kick a couple more with a few others to use it.

I hope it happens soon.

A very handy rookie!

Can’t believe they let him go.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
