GAMEDAY: Rd 03 vs Carlton

Toss of the coin this game. We can't defend and Carlton can't score. I'm hoping Gawn and Tmac's milestone provides an extra edge for the boys.

I've just had a browse through the Carltank line-up. They've only got seven blokes that can play. If we can't beat this mob then . . .

Im not going to dismiss them quite so readily. But I tend to agree we ought to have them covered.

I can't see how they would be able to get a hold of us.

I could see this could be a break out game for some of us... I mean....why not 🤷

Gosh, I hope we're not banking on the meaning and the context of two players to provide 'extra' motivation to do the basics... that would be an indictment on the individuals that operate like this and more so the Football Department as a whole, if they're perpetuating that.

I think we're underestimating them slightly.. they went toe to toe with the Swans in the opening game before getting blown away and Cripps and Walsh always get a hold of us.. plus they've added Hayward and Florent since we last played them.. Won't be easy.

You know I have a huge soft spot for the Blues, but I’ll be quite happy to see us kick you guys into the middle of next week. 😁

Boo ... boo !! 😁

Thats right...the Bloods used them as dunny paper... and the Toiges nearly got them.

We got this

Bloody loved Wattsy!

Genuine lad.

I made the mistake of arriving early only to get the “pre match entertainment”

The usual inane din plus bleeding kids stories!!

Very nervous about this one. Hopefully we turn one on against this mob. Can’t stand their arrogance.

It’s possibly been answered before so sorry, but have they double the sound at the MCG?

[censored] it’s loud

Petty has decided his hair is going on his terms

Be nice if we could hit a target by foot 🤦🏼‍♂️

Brilliant from Salem

[censored] Salem off, he's turned garbage

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.
