Not to stick the boot in, but King would’ve recognised the lack of options we have in our midfield and now has the job of developing the next batch.

It should’ve been happening since 2022-23.

Windsor, Langford, Lindsay and Tholstrup not up to afl standard yet. They all need to work a lot harder than they are

What does this even mean? They are not in the top 792 players in the world?

Reckon we should take max off soon

No way should Max be pulled off.

We need people like Sparrow actually tackling or producing turn overs in the midfield.

Yep, Steele, Sparrow and Kolt have tackled in the midfield at the contest but K Pickett looks the only guy who can lay a tackle in space

The one real positive is that we're running the game out....so far. Consider that first quarter mawling

It’s just reality. They are at home and a potential top 6 We are potential. Anywhere else

Goodness me, Chandler is either hot or cold no middle ground with his performances.

Can't stick a tackle

Can't handball to advantage

Struggling to get into space

Turnovers are off the charts

Langford, Lindsay very poor today. That's 2 weeks running

that was headless chicken stuff from jiath

Just now, whatwhat say what said:

Tbh it wasn't that different with Oliver and Petracca last year.

People criticising King for not picking 2 rucks should remember that Petty supported Max last week and was pretty successful. Disco getting injured took away that option.

Truth is they reverted back to last year, King was out couched when the heat was on in the first quarter, Lever, Salem, Sparrow are just to slow to react, Freo was rucking to Gawn players allowing freo to have free space and ball hunting, but this is a reality check to where we are but change will come.

@binman @george_on_the_outer

Dees seriously poor this week - crash landing !!

X Turnovers turnovers turnovers

X Poor skills - Poor decisions

X Second to the footy

X Bombing it inside 50 - allowing Freo to intercept

X Losing clearances

X JVR parachute hands again

X Missed tackles - Gotta lock it in

X lazy disposals Kozzy Jiath Riv

👍🏻Use the corridor We used it a few times and got scores

👍🏻Max is a warrior

Got to applaud the effort in the 4th.

They didn't put the head down like last year.

“Petty’s had a rough night” might be the understatement of the night.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
