I've seen more low kicks in 2 minutes than most of last season. I like it

Excellent ball movement ends with Max marking and goaling

maxys slots a regulation kick

thats rare

Kalani. That’s interesting / promising!

One of the worst things to do with glandular fever is to rush back too soon.

Not unusual to rush back then get a set back

I reckon the pass from fritta to Luker didnt help could have been lower and harder, it did seem to set Luker up for the clash

Very ..'sloppy'.. some players... you know... just take opportunities. They're around.

spurs - let’s hope Dopey MC the MRO reads this.

He will cite Frittata as contributing and put him out for 3.

Reckless elbow to the head. 2 weeks. Hate elbows

I saw it that the Tigers player was in a contest with the other Melbourne player, had eyes for the ball, and unfortunately Luker got taken out. Clumsy yes, and he may do time, but I don’t believe there was anny intent involved.

We look quick. Quick decisions and hitting targets

Commentary team on Kayo hasn't even mentioned Luker since he went off. No injury update.

Early days, but I'm really liking our forward 50 entries so far.

JVR juuuuuust misses Chandler in the pocket.

We're back on and Maxy goals straight away after a pinpoint pass from Langdon.

12-0

we have got this go dees

Absolutely pouring at Ballan (20mm in 30 mins) and the radar colours are dark orange and black

TMac just ran onto the ground and looks to be playing forward.

Just arrived at the ‘Tarax Club with a complimentary red cordial in hand, expecting to see the last half. Ha

Howes continuing his good form.

Highest disposal getter alongside Langford for the Demons.

Tbh... I've now watched that half a dozen times the Tiger was NEVER really in the contest... he was in the vicinity and just had his arm up to collect whatever he could. .

Thats what I saw... happy to disagree Hard ;)

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

  • PREGAME: St. Kilda

With just over two weeks until their opening match of the 2026 AFL Premiership season, the Demons are already well on the path to redemption and have the Saints firmly in their sights ahead of their mid-March clash at the MCG. What do you think the team will look like when they run out on to the G?

  • REPORT: Richmond

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.

The Dees ran another clinic for the second week in a row as they easily accounted for the Tigers in the lightning interrupted shortened match at Mars Stadium in Ballarat.
