We didn’t fully implode? Coach sacked? President gone? CEO gone? Arguably 2/3 of our best players left and we didn’t implode? That was under the two spoken leadership. I love Max as much as anyone but if you want to put the responsibility on Max and Jack for not letting us implode, then put it on them countless indirections that have happened under their eyes and leadership too.

Interestingly though neither of them were ever talked of as leaders of the club. Trac is a loss no doubt but Clarrie was out of juice at the Dees and is more than covered by Steele. (not to say he wont rediscover it elsewhere)

Not in my view. I have huge doubts that we can win any more than 7 or 8 games If ANY player can get into the best 23 then it improves our chances to win more. Good Luck to that player.

Most important in my view for longer term stuff supporters and sponsers.

If any player misses out on a senior game then let them show their ability at training or Casey.

Better to try harder at training or Casey than lope around in a losing side.

Still looking forward to the season Go Dees

I really like that idea - players you really enjoy watching, as opposed to 'best' players

Flash not in my top 10 best Demon players, but def one of the dees I most enjoyed watching.

Add Liam Jurrah to the list of best players to watch.

Robert Flower is still on the top of both my "best" and "best to watch" lists. And Max Gawn comes second on both.

Is that the first game of the new season or the round called round one.

You could not make this stuff up and this by the people running the game.

24 days til our first game

Agree the round 0 is a farce!

I wouldn't call it fully imploding. Obviously we needed a clear out. In the past the recent events would have left us wooden spooners with no hope for the future. But McVee and Trac are the only players that chose to leave. We have a good young coach, lots of quality young players and solid senior trades in. The playing group has largely stayed together and I put that down to Gawn and Viney and other leaders. I don't hold them responsible for pres/ceo etc. Seeing Kozzi sign on and other interstate kids, shows we have good team morale and attitude at least.

Did anyone see the aboriginal boys having trick shots? there was something on FB. Can't manage to post it

Absolutely amazing skills!

Another big thanks to Demonland, Ghostwriter, Ditcha, Fritta and Turner, Earl Hood, Kev, Gawnbeatsnerds, all posters and Special comments for another great training thread. Great to hear that “Flash” and his son Marley were in attendance and that he featured on the website.👏 well done Media Team, more of this please.🙏

Round 0 not so farcical if the Pies can take out a few Sainters (within the rules of course). No NWM and TdK for round one might shorten our odds.

Dee Zone, stop being so nice.. it doesn’t fit the narrative here❤️

Do team photos give us any indication of leadership groups?

Next to King, we have Max and Viney. Either side of those we have Lever, T Mac and Melksham.

Just wondering.

Yes I asked this question and also added about the team photo in a different thread but was just wanting to know when it was officially announced since I’ve seen other teams announce and haven’t seen ours announced yet 😊

So what are you proposing? I'm happy with Ghost writer's optimism. Surely at this time of year we're treating every player on the list as someone who will still be there next year. Of course come next preseason that won't be the case for plenty . I'd just rather be glass half full than glass half empty with him. And yes I think most of us have concerns and can see reasons why McAdam may not last that much longer with us.

I'll take the rose coloured glasses off for you. I've been to almost every summer session at Gosch's. McAdam may have talent, but his application to elite training standards is as bad as I have seen at our club. Sorry Ghosty, but if you are being honest, despite him being a nice guy, he treats training as a bit of fun with the boys. Hardly does anything with purpose. Jokes and laughs around when he makes errors. Goes through the motions most of the time. I really don't think he is anywhere near AFL ready this season. I will be happy to be proven wrong, and it's just an observation/opinion.

Glass half full and rose coloured glasses are hardly the same thing. I haven't watched him at training or anything of the sort but he still deserves the chance to be selected for the seniors, and if not first up still have the chance to go into the seniors if he does well in the reserves. If the guy ends up playing in our best 22 or 24 later in the year and stays on the park I really don't care how many laughs he has in training.

At the time I didn’t realise he was there. I was talking to Wheels before training had started and Flash was with him. He’s such a great person, always speaks well of the Dees.

Interesting how two people can see the same thing but their observations are starkly different.

I saw Shane run at full pace. He was giving it his all. He was given instructions which I could hear and he followed through with them each and every time. Yes, he looked spent after every exertion but he hasn’t been in full training for so long, of course he looks exhausted much of the time.

One thing we can agree on though is we both hope you’re proved wrong

phew! was worried flash had transformed into a teenager for a minute!

absolutely love that the club has and will continue to embrace legends of our club (especially with future father sons/daughters)

Exactly what I’ve observed.

McAdam was running shirtless the other day when I was at training with my son and, being polite, I’ve seen AFL footballers in much better condition. As for his rehab, again being polite, he was not exactly attacking it with relish. I do have sympathy for him as injuries take their toll mentally as well as physically. I wish him well in his life post football but he knows he’s not going to be on an AFL list in 12 months time and the club knows it too. Everyone’s going through the motions.

He may be the nicest bloke in the world and it’s not his fault that we paid way over the odds for him, but sadly he’s been a colossal bust.

Coached his brother for a period one of the best talents I have seen, but off field issues and lack of professional application saw that he never made it at state level, let alone to the AFL.

Dallas McAdam could have been anything but he’s just another in a long list of boys from the communities who haven’t reached their potential

The truth hurts to hear.

I do agree to some extent. He doesn’t have that ‘dog’ in him with regards to his application on the running.

However, I just want to remark that it’s not and never will be his go.

Shane is a natural footballer and his instincts are his greatest strength and so you can’t judge him on lap running.

Let’s judge him upon his output for Casey when the time comes. There’s absolutely a player there. I’m glad he’s at least still seeing it through.
