It's well done but I'm not a fan of leaning into the "lovable losers" schtick. I don't really care about the skiing/Chardonnay stereotype but let's not reinforce an image of being a horrible underperforming club. We won a flag this decade FFS 🙄

I'm sure I'll get piled on for being negative but I don't think projecting that image is going to endear us to potential members/supporters.

Tend to agree DrG - I thought it was a fresh start rather than reinforcing some of the old easy beat pompous stereotypes

To me it feels like this will age better if the team performs above expectations OR it will look pretty lame if we finish up in the bottom 4

Each to their own opinion and it seems most people here like it so that's a positive I suppose

Classic video I find it really funny! Also good we are going with our unique identity as a football club, a least we have one which is more than you can say for teams like North, Bulldogs and most of the interstaters.....even Richmond is just Collingwood lite in terms of how they are perceived

I think this will speak to the members we've lost over the past couple of years a lot more than the generic stuff we usually produce.

Great ad.

Also Awaken Your Demon is a much better slogan than Demon Spirit.

Our supporters probably have the most unique identity/stereotype of any team in the comp. Much better to lean into it then just let others use it at our expense.

There has certainly been a shake up in the media department.

One of those appointments is former Collingwood and Brisbane Lion player Jackson Paine who officially started his role at the Dees media department and cooperate affairs only a week ago.

Poor Hamish only got to Perisher 10 times last season. 🤣

Very well done - kudos to the marketing/media team.

Perisher doesn't have the same ring as mt Buller or hotham.

We have been waiting a long time for our MFC media and PR dept to leave Windows 95 behind and produce contemporary, crisp, professional & engaging content. Worth the wait. This is brilliant.

I'm sure someone here will know who it is, but whoever is running the social media dept this year is doing a brilliant job. This is fantastic. I feel like MFC are going all in on the re brand. New players, new coach, new direction entirely.

Ditto to this post, social media has been next level. 👌

The socials are reflecting.... a change in mood ( cue...KITK )....

There's a different feel to the place....

It’s still the same media team but they’ve been let off the leash. Get creative & engage!

I don’t know who’s responsible for the idea, the script, the casting but a company (ShotPro) was called in to put this together .

Great video. Who are some other Dees celebrities who could have hypothetically featured?

Ones off the top of my head (not all of them necessarily big names or likeable)... Neil Mitchell, Mike Sheahan, Derryn Hinch, Nazeem Hussein, Rob Sitch, Rob Gel, Mal Walden, 2 of the Sooshi Mango guys...

Rob McKenzie of McKenzie Theory fame

David Bland of the old TV mime show Kommotion (hosted by Ken Sparks)

Dave Bridie of Not Drowning Waving and My Friend the Chocolate Cake fame, and performed a brilliant version of Grand Old Flag on Marngrook Footy.

No snow in Japan in October, I spent a week in Hakuba in late Jan/Early Feb - wonderful time.

Some fella at the pub spoke to me about my Narrm beanie

According to Chat GPT there’s lots of unexpected names:

John Farnham

Magda Szubanski

Kate Ceberano

Shaun Micallef

Sam Pang

Ross Noble

Adam Spencer

Tony Squires

Tom Rogers

Tex Perkins

Mark Phillipousis

Has Sam Pang seen the light? Think he supported Carlton. ...AI doesn't know [censored]!

Another I know is a MFC man is Paul Kelly.

Not 100% sure, buy I from what I recall of an article he wrote post the 2021 premiership, I think Martin Flanagan is a red and blue man as well.
