Culley in seconds??? Is that becuase he is coming of his injury

Yes

Most posters do not have Heath on the bench - does that mean they favour having JVR having to do ruck work as relief instead of concentrating on becoming the next big thing as a KPF??

Wouldn't it help prolong Big Max's career having regular proficient relief?

They can't have Jefferson, van Rooyen, Miocek, Gawn and Heath in the one side too tall. Are you saying Jefferson won't play?

Round 1 team based on match sim 13/02

B: McDonald, Turner, Petty

HB: Salem, Lever, Lindsay

C: Langford, Steele, Langdon

HF: Fritsch, Mihocek, Sparrow

F: L Pickett, JVR, Chandler

R: Gawn, Pickett, Rivers

Potential best 23 injured or unavailable: Viney, Culley, Bowey, May, AMW

Not sure about Melksham.

I think Culley will be in there, the broken arm should be fixed by Round 1.

At the moment I'd have Heath instead of Jefferson.

I would have Kentfield ahead of Jefferson on last week's form.

I would too, but listening to Troy Chapman's post game interview on the website, I suspect that the coaching team is backing Jeffo at this point. Chapman talks of Kentfield making a bit of a claim for that 5th bench spot after his performance against North.

I also can't see that they would play both Kentfield and Heath as forward/rucks, so I'm suspecting that it will take another game of respectively good and poor/mid performances from Kentfield and Jeffo, for Kentfield to get a gig ahead of Jeffo.

Not 100% that I agree with this, but it's how I'm reading the situation at the moment.

I do also sense that there's something to work with in Jeffo and that he'll be given oppertunites to establish himself.

It’ll be absolutely crazy if Jeffo plays over Kentfield round one if he isn’t seen again against Richmond.

I wonder if they will play Petty forward with Miocek out? Jefferson to get first crack in the pocket and Kentfield to come in later

If he plays like he did vs Norf he will lose his position, Luker is also breathing down his neck. Backing him to play well vs Richtank though!

And Jefferson ( who has never played CHF incidentally) instead of Kentfield. Not on the basis of last Friday

He is certain starter if fit comes in for Melksham and Kentfield for Taylor

Answer... play another good game Friday and hope Jeffo plays a stinker, or gets an injury!

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

It’s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle – perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?
