I wonder when Viney might move from TBC. Really starting to wonder if retirement is closer than a returnโ€ฆ

On Paddy Cross, his work competing in the air was amazing, reminds me of Melky.

And on the ground SPC, he set up Chin for his goal in the square in the third quarter

And this one does?

Incidentally, people arenโ€™t deliberately quoting posts three times in one post. When it was just Pickett Fence doing it we all thought yeah thatโ€™s soooo PF but itโ€™s happening to several posts/posters; clearly itโ€™s unintentional.

Just trying to help

Tomorrowโ€™s injury report should be of interest with some questions arising from the last week or two:-

โ€ข Daniel Turnerโ€™s hand injury. How close is he to a return given his importance as an emerging defender in the team?;

โ€ข Changkuoth Jiath was injured during yesterdayโ€™s game. Reports say it was a calf injury which makes him a likely out for Sunday vs Gold Coast;

โ€ข Jake Melksham was clearly hampered by what appeared to be an injury to his right knee in the VFL game vs Footscray last week. He wasnโ€™t included on the clubโ€™s official injury list but his status remains a mystery;

โ€ข Trent Rivers was omitted from yesterdayโ€™s game with the coach referring to an issue he was dealing with - another mystery;

โ€ข Paddy Cross - reported on Facebook* that heโ€™s had surgery for hand injury that will put him out for possibly a few weeks.

* ALL ABOARD THE DEE TRAIN (Barb Kearsley)

I think Ghosty got the latest at today's session on all but Melky. Straight from the horse's mouth (apologies to J.Longmire).

Kentfield available and Turner a test. Great news!

Jeffo and Johnson also available but wouldnโ€™t have thought they would be a consideration for the Senior team.

Injury List: Round 4

Matthew Jefferson โ€” foot / available

Aidan Johnson โ€” knee / available

Luker Kentfieldย  โ€” knee / available

Shane McAdam โ€” Achilles / 2-3 weeks

Changkuoth Jiath โ€” calf / 3-4 weeks

Patrick Cross โ€” thumb / 4-5 weeks

Jake Bowey โ€” foot / 5-7 weeksย

Tom Campbell โ€” neck / TBC

Jack Viney โ€” Achilles / TBC

There's no way Viney will choose to retire when he's contracted until the end of 2028 on good coin. He'll take the whole year off if he needs to for recovery.

AFL story stated that Cross is out for 4-5 for his dislocated thumb surgeryโ€ฆ bloody hell.

Not ideal for the young fella to start his career.

I was so excited about McAdam when we got him, thought'd we got a good one but just has had the worst run it's terrible, for him most of all (

Still hopefully we might see him at some point, really do hope so, wouldn't that be something if he just popped up ready to rock and actually was a player!

Will not play a senior game in 2026 and will be delisted!

Kade Chandler played one game in 2019 (against the Swans) - had just 7 disposals but made 9 tackles and broke a hand or finger.....maybe a nice parallel there.

True, but when Clarry broke his hand he couldnโ€™t and wouldnโ€™t lay one tackle.

Hopefully we get the Chandler version ๐Ÿ˜‚

Bad news re Paddy after a promising debut.

Better news re Disco and Luker in particular.

I just hope that Casey donโ€™t have yet another bloody bye, and that Luker gets a run. If he performs could he ba a dark horse for debut in gathering round or Bears?

Good news indeed.

If Disco was available, reckon theyโ€™d call him up before Rivers/AMW?

Kentfield in for JVR? I donโ€™t think JVR is not performing but heโ€™s not doing what he did R1, and maybe they look to give Kentfield a run.

Does anyone know how and when Paddy broke his thumb?

Nothing stood out in the replay.

Kentfield, Jeffo and AJ will be a massive boost for the Casey fwd line!

Hopefully Luker can play well and come in to ruck for us to Petty and JVR play their regular roles

Maybe when he flew to spoil Weitering (JVRs kick inside50). If he didnโ€™t, Weitering would have have the intercept mark. Cross spoiled, ball was crumbed by Fritsch for that AMAZING curling left foot goal ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

think we can afford to keep CJ out for a couple weeks.

Give him 6 week to make sure he's cherry ripe for Casey.

  • CASEY: Richmond

    The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demonsโ€™ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
    Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.
