Lindsay has been very impressive in the ball movement drills. Elite disposal.

That was a factor in his game that mysteriously went missing this year. Hope it stays. Finally scored a coupla sausage rolls in rd 20......

If anyone wants to report on Killarney White, I would be pleased.

Killarney beach is just 5 minutes away

Always cool but a lovely beach to walk along.

He is a true Demon now.

I told Wheels about this photo and he said he hasn’t seen it.

He said, “Oh if it’s on Demonland I’ll see it anyway.” 😳

Have I ever mentioned on here how much I love Wheels?

Jed Adams the only absentee.

Further to the other reports Viney, Henderson, Matthews and McAdam in what I would describe as "full rehab". Matthews getting special treatment related to his knee, so perhaps he is the furthest away from playing. Given Viney and McAdam are both achilles - hard to say about return dates. Henderson also hard to predict.

Bowey running laps (but does not look far away) and Jeffo in and out as described above. JVR got a knock to the lip - went back to AAMI for some patchwork - and after that resorted to running.

Pleasing aspects for me - Mihocek, Heath and Steele did the entire session unhampered and CJ did most of it.

Trelly Pickett is a gun - not just his skills - but the running capacity, confidence and willingness to join in. Pencil him in for Round 1. Windsor everywhere, when the ball needed to be moved.

I reckon Taylor will take a little while - in defence. Early call, but maybe not a lock for Round 1.

Onley a good size and moved smoothly - all the draftees and CJ did quite a bit of running towards the end - obviously still building their bases. AMW looking better and better - let's see if he does full sessions from January.

The word is that they will stay at Gosch's through until Friday 19 December. Training was scheduled for 10 am but they were out early and finished up around 12 pm.

All the old boys doing good old boys' stuff, i.e. including TMac and Melky in that group. Lever moving freely. May - an interesting watch.

I’m pretty sure they finish up on Wednesday the 17th, Harves.

Kalani is 200cm and hopes to grow “heaps more.”

If we have the backline covered I do like Turner up forward, he’s very mobile, leads and marks well and can kick straight.

Prefer to let him settle back now...strong movement from defence is going to be important.

I reckon we need to consider Kalani a "project". He'll learn a lot at Casey this year playing with either Heath or Tommy Campbell down there. Remember Max took a while....hopefully Kalani develops a little quicker because he doesn't smoke at his age....🙂

About 38 here too.... F

I’ve taken this fantastic Track Watch Report and accompanying photo from Cameron Burt on The DeeBrief Facebook page. Hope that’s okay and I haven’t breached any copyright ©️ !

@coachcavcam ventured down to training today:

▪️Hendo, McAdam, Vines and Tom Matthews didn’t train. They all completed an off field strength session.

▪️Bowey, AMW, Roo and Jeffo spent a huge part of their day running laps. Jeffo dealing with concussion from a couple weeks ago.

▪️Each drill Jared Rivers ran was about containing, keepings off and tackling. He produced three bloodied faces with those drills. Roo, Onley and Heath.

▪️CJ’s run and carry is so exciting, but just has to tidy up his foot skills. We’ll have a fun player to watch.

▪️Koz and Max stuck out massively in all simulation. Culley was really good, too - a big body.

▪️T Mac the best defender today. Chin super vocal in the front half. Onley is a big lad, who could surprise and Latrelle has such silky skills.

▪️Vibe of the session was hard work. It was drills ran by different line coaches treated as a circuit. Drill after drill rotating. Finished with some match sim and some transition work. Lots of running, they were cooked!

▪️Leading back at the ball carrier was a focus of the transition match sim drill.

Big thanks to Cam Burt for this 🙏

Its going to be tough picking the best 3 from that 5 albeit TMac and May are probably in their last year so i reckon we will be going with Turner, Petty and Lever as the 3 talls.
Anyone know Turner's 1-1 stats from this year, can he be the #2 KPD?

Don't forget Adams. I don't know if he'll make it, but he'll also be competing for one of those spots.

Rooey’s on the boundary spitting out blood. Must’ve copped a hit to the mouth. Quite a bit of blood coming out. Now he’s being taken back to the rooms.

ROOEY LIP UPDATE:

Turns out one of his bottom teeth went through his lip. He’s fine but it was starting to hurt a little after training. He said everything’s all good so long as he can still eat. 😅

I've mentioned this before, and I'll repeat it: Nate Murphy (former Pie) reckons Rivo arguably the best coach he's had.

After training the boys were going back to AAMI for lunch (together). After lunch it’s gym time (all together), then they break off into groups; some do more running, some in the pool, some do extra gym work. They get Thursdays and Sundays off. On Saturdays they do hill-running.

It was interesting hearing about this from XT who can’t compare it to previous years. He talked about it in a very matter-of-fact way. I asked him if he finds any part of it challenging or even difficult and he said not at all.

Vines on the other hand said training is “very different now.” He said it’s more intense and more specialised, but that “we love it.” Probs easier for him to say that while he’s on light duties 😁

Edit: I forgot to mention that XT showed me his little “Demon” tattoo. I asked why he got it done (as a Richmond supporter) and was it just because he liked the design. He said he didn’t know what it was about it that he liked when he chose it but that when he was selected by us his first thought was “it’s meant to be.” I said “you really mean that, don’t you.” He said, “100 percent, this is my destiny.”

I think we should keep him 😁

What a difference three months make?

It was hard not to be impressed by the new faces and the speed of the new-look squad.

Gone are the distractions - sorry Trac and Olly - and in is pace. Sure we only had about 20min of match sim but you couldn't but help notice that slow, precise build-ups are out, replaced by manic speed of ball movement.

Almost everyone who has commented has noticed CJ's run and I am trying to remember a bigger early-season influencer or wow factor - he already shapes as the recruit of the year. He didn't just run and carry and kick long drop punts down the wing to Windsor - he also laid a couple of crunching tackles - one on Langford was a clear free kick to our second-year player. When coupled with Kozzie's constant pressure and elite kicking, it's hard not to see why there's a sense of excitement.

It was also hard not to like Brody Mihocek's lead up work, Turner's intercepting, Gawny and May's presence and the extra competitiveness of Sparrow, Culley and Laurie in the midfield.

As someone said earlier, Xavier Taylor may not be a Rd 1 lock just yet, but he did show a willingness to take the game on - even after he was caught taking a little too long to dispose of the ball on a couple of occasions.

All in all there must be 30 players at least in the mix for Rd 1 based on what I saw and that doesn't include Viney (rehab) and Adams (absent) who I'd expect to be ready post-X-mas.

And I imagine there's another thread for it, but guessing the Rd 1 team of 23 correctly would pay about 5000-1 at this stage. Please note: this is not a queue for more Werridee stabs at his best 23, god help us!

OK - the 19th was the word from Gussy boy - we'll report back to the DL crew.....Saturday the 13th is the Christmas Open Day, right?

‘Tis. No training but the players will be there for photos and autographs. Kick-to-kick is also available once the players have left. Apparently Santa will be there, too. And we can’t forget the highlight of the day, that being the…

DEMON ARMY SAUSAGE SIZZLE!

PS: I’ll see your Gussy boy and raise you a Kingy 😉

Another final observation, on the way out I was going to take a photo of the Melb Victory training for my "other" son, and was told by their staff that photography was prohibited. I couldn't be bothered arguing the point, but if you're part of a league trying to build a supporter base I am not sure this is the best attitude.

Wow. This must be a recent rule change. I got photos with several of the Victory players earlier this year (also for a young soccer fan). They must wonder why literally no one shows up to watch them train. Their open training this year was a sad sight. A smattering of people turned up. Similar thing with Storm, hardly ever any fans watching them train.

I do not doubt your opinion and he does look good in the Dee’s colours.

But

For him to be our recruit of the year must mean that the team he came from have lost severely.

Was he played in the wrong position , had too much opposition for his place or was he injured badly, why did they let him go. We have recruited very poorly in the past few years IMO from other clubs. Culley same but looks good.

Hope your right though !!
