Will we delist and re-rookie?

Featured Replies

If we are going to use pick 37 we have to delist a player and rookie them, unless both White and Sinnema are both rookies. Who will it be?

This looks likely.

Our current primary list is 33 so if there are bids on either/both of White and Sinnema we have space to match the bids. Likely we rookie them in any case. Pick 37 can be used without fear of losing them to bids.

We can have up to 38 on the PL so should be fine in either case.

The only complication is a bid on White/Sinema after ND37 and we have to trade in picks with points to then match.

The points discount is 10% but then it's locked in at 195pts after round 1.

Pick 43 is worth 184pts, so from there the discount outweighs the cost so no picks are required to match.

37 to 43 is a tight window so we'd have to be very unlucky, mind you 37 should come in a fair way as picks get eaten up matching bids, so the window will be wider.

Yeah, Red. Remember the good 'ol days when we only had to count up to 19?

I'm more lost than Bailey Smith at a critical thinking symposium.

Can we delist McAdam and forget to re-rookie him? Or Laurie?

I cant believe these two are taking up space

Apparently Sydney are delisting Rampe and Lloyd and then rookieing them.

500 odd games between the pair... perfect rookie candidates

This part I agree with, The savings on medical costs prob offsets his wage.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
