Is his disposal as bad as people say?

Love his run and dash but weโ€™re trying to get rid of our poor kicks, not bring more in

73.0% kicking efficiency across his career.

Hmm. Really not sure about him.

Had in supercoach team for bit of this year. Watched him much closer.

He does some amazing things...but also crazy stuff.

Tends to fade in and out of games.

Super athletic and has a lot of good traits....needs to work on disposal, and decision making.

On that note....should fit right in.

Backing King and assistants to round out our players.

heard we just met with him and he told me bailey humphrey is doing a medical tomorrow and will sign

Is this baileys 2nd or 3rd medical now? Are there juicy tax deductions in performing medicals or something?

I just met Bailey at the coffee shop and he gave me a big hug and said heโ€™s doing his 45th medical and will sign!

Agreed!

I canโ€™t talk for very long, because Iโ€™ve just snuck out of a BBQ with CJ.

Heโ€™s currently weighing up his options, but is thinking heโ€™ll do a couple of snags and a rissole, and then hit the potato salad.

Will keep you updated as I can.

Sounds like weโ€™d have a new Frosty

  • Demonland changed the title to The Changkuoth Jiath Thread

Sam Edmund, Melbourne is showing interest in Hawthorn's Changkuoth Jiath.

Sam Edmund is reporting that the Demons have emerged as a potential suitor for the contracted Hawk.

Melbourne has an interest in Changkuoth Jiath. Jiath has an agreement with the Hawks to explore the market in search of greater playing opportunity. The Demons have emerged as a potential suitor for the rebounding defender, but there is no offer yet. Jiath has two years to runโ€ฆโ€” Sam Edmund (@Sammy__Edmund) October 14, 2025

Does some existing things, heโ€™s an X factor we have sorely missed down back, sure he can turn it over but who doesnโ€™t Iโ€™ve seen May and Lever do the same thing, the key is that he keeps his cool under pressure and doesnโ€™t fumble inside 50 when round goal

Edited by Garbo

Personally, I think we are in need of some stock standard bonafide AFL players - Jiath is that.

As ever, the price matters but I think he is a good talent and has confidence in his ability at this level.

Can play, but geez knows how to turnover.

Given 'poor disposal/turnovers' are things we like to look at, especially near oppo goals, I can see CJ being the scapegoat for big scores (against). X factor yes, athlete yes, but if we are looking to tighten up disposals/skills (YESSS PLEEEAAASE) then I am not sure this is the way forward.

But, hey, nobody else seems to be clamouring to get to us, so when you're in the middle of an implosion, maybe you just gotta take some risks ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Yep disposal is poor along with his decision making, should fit in nicely

is that true?

the good ol' 'eye test' says otherwise

long bombs to no one in particular and stab pass turnovers that are reminiscent of may at his worst

The kids seem to like him. Why not eh? I'm just going to roll up rnd 1 and who knows what the hell the 22 will look like?

As a very young man I got horrible drunk on Baileys and need a medical

We have learnt nothing from Sharp Schache Billings Hunter McAdam Dunstan etc

Stop picking up everyoneโ€™s elseโ€™s VFL rubbish. There is a reason they donโ€™t play them

He was coming back from an injury last season and was coming from a fair way back. Exciting player at his best.

As a defender his kicking efficiency is below average. Wasnt top 150 last year and other metrics such as disposals per turnover or clangers per turnover he wasnt in the top 100 either. At best he's inconsistent.

But not everyone has to be elite in everything. He brings some athleticism and speed. Our defenders were too slow last year. Hawks dont want him so we should be bidding a late 3rd or 4th rounder. There's really no reason to be paying up if hes not guaranteed a game at the Hawls.

ย

Please no, he was horrible in the last few games, turnovers galore.

Astonishingly poor disposal and decision making. Quick though....

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourneโ€™s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last yearโ€™s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although itโ€™s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sundayโ€™s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to foolโ€™s gold.
