Addiction is a disease.

Clarry isn't a bad guy - he's lost his way.

It's a sad reality

Pity he didn't lose his way, before signing The Big One

Um couldn't care less about me?? Seriously it aint about me, I met him once, treated me with respect! Didn't attend Max's 250th for whatever reason, would Max give a sheeeit? Doubt it!! As for Moron!!? Well ok there are plenty around but please! With two Masters Degree's and an ongoing PhD, ( which I will never probably complete) moron might be a bit heavy handed! Passionate yep but moron?? In retrospect probably u are half right! And defend him I will!! um not a son, but a bloody legend of this club

Hey PF, I dunno who you are, but you don't have to defend your opinion about anything or anybody to Any MF.

The Forum here is built on different opinions. Not definitive rules or petty differences. Oliver is gone but never forgotten, and in my ladder of MFC player ability near top. We move on.

I don't hate Oliver or anyone else.

I'm just sad that for the past few seasons he clearly failed to fulfill the immense potential he had to become an all-time great.

For a few seasons he was an outstanding player. Now he's just one of many good ones.

If the story is true, and I suspect it probably is, that tells you everything you need to know about why we punted him.

Couldn't get his [censored] together to show up for Gawn's 250th, after everything Gawn did for him over the last 3 years.

Yeah I kind of felt sorry for him, but something tells me he is just a [censored] bloke.

I think I’m finally done with this thread

It's a shame he couldn't show up for Max after everything max did for him & the help he gave him.

Even howe showed up which was nice.

I mean he showed up earlier in the season for another milestone game.

Anyway hope he enjoyed his night out

Ease up on Pickett Fence guys.

He is a passionate man who loves Clarry and the Dees and talks some BS on here like we all do.

He is part of the rich tapestry of characters on here.

If the latest rumours are true it’s such a shame. I had hoped that the changes of city would help him turn things around.

I was much happier reading the other thread that said he had attended.

I wonder how GWS will deal with him. Not sure they will be an easy on him as we clearly were in the past.

Also agree with @DubDee people need to calm down. No need to be calling Picket names because he defends as ex player.

Strange that the headlines aren’t -

GWS Star out partying till 6am.

we await to see if GWS will punish him

I would imagine he wouldn’t have broken any team rules because the Giants have the bye this week, and from my limited knowledge the players are pretty free when it’s more than 7 days between games.

Occams Razor .The club got caught up in all cultural and peripheral issues and missed the obvious that he was too good to let go.

This isn’t an example of ‘Occam’s Razor’; amongst other reasons, there are no competing hypotheses being compared here for the same set of facts. It’s merely opinion.

Gee. Times have changed. When I was young, you went to the circus to see jugglers, clowns, lion tamers, monkeys and trapeze artists. There were afternoon matinees and evening sessions but I never heard of a circus being open at 6.00am.

No doubt Adam Kingsley organized the trip to the circus for the boys as a bonding session after losing three in a row.

Well if things didn’t happen the way they did, we probably wouldn’t have Jack Steele. Silver linings…..

no, it would read “ex-Dee exorcising his Demons”

There would have been plenty of clowns there, that’s the only similarity

I loved Clarrie in his time at the Dees, but this latest "non-incident" is the perfect example of why I'm glad he's no longer at the club.

His team is 1-3, and he is out with his new teammates on a tour of Melbourne nightclubs til 6 in the morning, then finding himself with another little short news segment about his behavior.

If they could convert our BS into oil the world would be saved.

I think that Splinters is by nature a very humble person ,and did not want to blow his trumpet the reason he was not in the rooms was that he was off to Aldi and Woolies to get all the red jelly snakes ,the boys apparently love them at half time .In the past he was the bloke in white with a Craven A filter cigarette cutting up the oranges .Passionate Dees supporters like Splinters is what we want .GO DEES .

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…

Picket Fence is HARMLESS.

I don’t know why anyone would bother to take him to task about anything he says. He’s not hurting anyone.

Death, taxes and Pickett Fences defending Clarry. You know what your going to get when you come to this thread.

Made the right decision.

Happy to re-engage when he is a calmer 40 year old at reunions.

Let’s leave it there.

Now I’m off to wake up my 5 year old so he doesn’t pizz himself in his bed again

Well you didn’t get there in time did you

Bloody past-rpfc… got no idea

Those overnight nappy pants for toddlers are the way to go, even for a 5yo. Get the Aldi home brand type, cheaper but just as good. If the nappy pants are dry in the morning they can be reused that night.

He’s in those. Mrs rpfc wants him out of them but little rpfc can’t wake up

Literally changed the bed with him on the bed and slapped a nappy on him and went back to bed

But this thread isn’t about my parenting - it’s about a flawed yet mercurial character that frustrates so many…

Or maybe we’ve said enough about picket??

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
