“The Suns are adamant they will get a Petracca deal done (likely involving pick 7)”

Wow does Lamb know the deal is already done?

Seriously?

There's been massive damage done, and no way in a million years that Trac comes back now.

Bing, the only damage is to his ego. If he’s not worth anything significant to GC then he’s not the brand he thinks he is.

I’d imagine MFC will have no fear holding Trac if they don’t get the offer we want.

Lots of vomit emoji reactions to this (Johnson’s comment). Personally, I couldn’t agree more with his comments.

The sell to him is obviously how high the suns value him, there is zero chance another club will be able to get a trade done in the slightest. Stay at the suns for the next few years bc there’s not too many times a norm smith medalist is going to come to your club and as such our sell is just we will get the deal done.

Demonland, and this thread in particular, are becoming my favourite mystery novel of all time. Who knows where it will end? I just can’t put the bloody book down. The suspense is through the roof!

In other news my watch says my stress rate has increased by 40% from two weeks ago and my caffeine intake has nearly doubled.

The media really tests my resolve.

A whole discussion on how 2025 is the year of player swaps/trades. They (Cooney / Adams) go on for a solid 10 mins talking about clubs like Sydney/Geelong/ Hawks need to cough up another player in the pursuit of Curnow and Merrett because picks this year will be next to worthless. I am speechless how no mention of Petracca was made. I just understand dont understand how we continually get underrepresented in the media. Im realistic and dont think a 1st round plus BH for Trac is doable. Id love for it to happen as that is fair value in my book, but know that at best its a straight swap. If it was Cripps or L.Neale, they'd be talking 3 first rounders and Rowell for either of these players.

I know its early days, but i just dont see a world where we walk away from this trade with BH. Now GCS maybe playing hardball as they ultimately want a straight swap whereas i can imagine, we are asking for 7 and BH for Trac. But my instincts tell me it is unlikely and the media seem to have made up there mind too suggesting that BH should stay and yet they dont talk about what is fair for MFC with Trac, it just gets pushed to the side. Fn annoys me something chronic.

If we get to wed/thur morning without hearing he wants a trade then we may as well shut down this thread.

I’m not sure if you are aware but we have been trying to contract Judd McVee since early 2022 and the year is now 2031. Freo think he’s the next Jordan Clark, Judd thinks he’s Andrew McLoed and Demonland think he’s another Josh Wagner.

I'd give it the weekend.

It might not happen overnight......

And the harsh reality for Judd is he couldn't look in an aggressive half back role in the 14th ranked team and somehow thinks he's going to be able to do it in a team that's higher up the ladder and should contend for the flag.

There really is just no good press about us at all.

If Gold Coast is paying tracs full salary then pick 7 is all I think the dees can expect.

This is already a significant move from where it was before the weekend.

It’s a no way, to no way unless, to he’s forced our hand

Everyone needs a few days to swing their [censored] around and feel good

If he nominates us I think it gets done. We will pay a bit extra to make the suns feel good about it.

I think because we started with Humphrey AND they were like no way

In the end if Humphrey pushes to leave we will probably settle on a straight swap +|- pick swaps

But he has to ask to leave. Because once he requests a trade, what can GC do? They say no, miss out on Trac and have an unhappy kid who wants to go home.

3 hours ago, Jaded No More said:

So in other words, he has to ask for a trade and make it clear he’s leaving to go home. Either it’s now for Trac or when he’s out of contract for a packet of chips

That's what I had been told and what posted about many posts back.

We have advised BH to push his case to be traded and we can step in.

Regardless of what some say, there was no real conversation about money. It was about selling him the idea of being at our club etc.

Dees won't discuss money until they know he is all in on getting out.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
