Above some how I lost the last half. If he could not do more than a guy with one arm then what was he doing in the team. You are playing a guy who cannot Mark and that is one of his usual strong points. I can see nothing that supports a guy with a broken arm continuing to play in any game.

At 3/4 time why couldn't they just sub him off instead of Rhys Stanley?the guys arm was broken.

I know its not the same level, but this is very comparable with Trac and his spleen injury that if left untreated for days/weeks could have ultimately cost him his life. But hear me out. Broken arms are most of the time straight forward fractures that heal good enough to restore function. But occasional and rarely, there can be complications. Severe complications that could ultimately cost Cameron his arm.

Were the medico's convinced it was just a fracture? Similar to how medico's thought Tracs was just some cracked ribs and at worst a collapsed lung?

It was incredibly irresponsible for Geelong to let Cameron back on the field.

Will they cop any heat from the media? No... in fact quite the opposite, it will be applauded for its courage and bravery.

He certainly looked dazed but it could have been from the pain of his injury.

Either way, the care of the player should be questioned.

It's hard not to wonder as to the the media's response if Clarry abused a female photographer or if Melbourne left a player on in a GF appeared concussed but, nonetheless, had a broken arm. That's just for starters, add a current Cats player going through the courts atm, rocking up to the ground.

We flashed in the pan during a year we played in empty stadiums and then won the flag in freakin' Perth.

And Stanley should be insulted that the coach thinks a one armed Cameron would be more productive than himself.
Should look for another club.

Reckon the President told him to pull his head in as he come out and said they we're happy to play their games at the MCG.

It really is much more important whether the players think they're losers. If a team comes from 16th the previous year to 4th and then after a stumble in Week 1 end up starting at 6.0 in the GF their self-belief or lack thereof will decide if they're a genuine chance ( not everyone else).

As for empty stadiums I don't think they're as big a deal as some would think. Just because Kardinia Park was empty doesn't mean our comeback win in the final round was a fluke. I'm sure some teams do get overwhelmed by big crowds.But we won our GF in a full and loud stadium (and then won with much bigger crowds in the two years after.) I can't agree with you

The majority of the season was played with crowds...including finals. I think we had three games without crowds.

The crowds were often compromised, including the fact interstate grounds substituting for the MCG meant even capacity crowds couldn't be anything like 90+K they might have been. I just can't think a team in the top 4 for 3 years and who rarely played well below their best in front of large crowds at the time suggest anything fluky.

Certainly is a bit of a pattern isn’t there.

I pretty much turned the telly not long after the game had finished….but I did get to hear Dangefield get up on the stage and speak.

In my opinion I thought he did really well. Congratulated Brisbane but also made the point that coming second doesn’t mean that it should be all doom and gloom.

There is only one in eighteen chance of winning a premiership. I reckon if your team finishes in the top four it ain’t all bad. A premiership would of course be better but not winning it doesn’t mean it’s the end of the world. Certainly beats finishing bottom four.

I now must look up the press conference and feel Scott’s pain. 😉
