How does a 34 yo Gunston kick 5 in a final …

Simple... delivery and accuracy

You don't need mega forwards if you have delivery. Collingwood is another example.

Geelong with Cameron are slightly old school while Brisbane are probably their own worst enemy

With or without Rankine, I think the result would have still been the same. That Hawthorn side is so well drilled! They don’t panic with the ball, are always looking for a loose man and always lowering their eyes when going into the forward 50m…unlike the Crows who despite working the ball well out of defence and up the ground, would continually destroy all of that good work by bombing it into the forward 50 (reminds me of another team).

I seriously believe that the Hawks could be playing in the grand final if they continue to show this kind of form.

It looks as though I will have to throw my support behind Brisbane again because there is no one else worthy enough to support.

WWE picks 5/5.

How useless is final 8, top sides unrewarded. 8th gets armchair ride into preliminary, despite finishing 3 games and twenty percent below 1st. Same way we were dudded in '98.

The pre-finals bye has really taken away the advantage. I really feel that in 2021, the no bye really helped us continue our momentum into that QF. Thankfully it seems like they're scrapping it for a pre-grand final bye like they did in 2021 and matches that of the NFL.

The pre-finals bye destroys all momentum but Hawthorn was always a legitimate chance irrespective of where they finished. They have one of the best defenses in the league. I think the third best. IMO it was always going to be between Hawks, Adelaide and Crows for the flag. I can totally see the Hawks absolutely pummelling the Cats next week on the turnover. Watch them absolutely tear about the corridor of the MCG.

Seems a fair chance that it will be a Cats-Pies grand final or a Hawks-Pies grand final. Gross.

when gc17 in their glorious pink guernsey is the best of the bad options, you know yr in trouble

dimma is a winner, the rotten so-and-so

We all know, only too well, the disappointment of straight set exits

Bad as ours have been, the Crows have been pathetic the last 2 weeks. As minor premier as well. They were never in the game last night and didn't really trouble the pies that much either in the QF

If I'm a Crows fan i would be very disheartened

15th to 1st, over achieved for the year. Won’t go that far backwards next year. Not overly upset. Annoyed but not devastated

i think he's keeping a stiff upper lip cos the bottom one is definitely wobbling...

you finish top of the table like they did you should not [censored] the bed like they did

Didn’t watch, can’t stand the Hawks and the likes of Watson and Ginnivan, but this is what a winning club looks like and something I hope King, Guerra and Smith can turn us into. Just gotta give them their dues and credit them.

Say what you want about the Hawks, they are a true winners club and hardly rebuild for long periods. Since ‘61, they have won at least 1 flag every decade and are contending again in a quick way.

Remember their “wooden spoon” battle against North Melbourne after both clubs went 0-6 to start last year? Unbelievable…

i have to say, the hawthorn hatred which has been dormant in me for a few years, is roaring back with a vengeance

i can't stand them. i really can't

i know its a choice between syphilis and cholera but i reckon I'd rather see the cats win the prelim

Me too. I was surrounded by many arrogant Hawks supporters in the 80s growing up. I can't believe they're back in the hunt so quickly. I know it's been 10 years since their last flag but they haven't been down the bottom for long enough. I wish they were in an Essendon situation and not winning finals for 21 years...

Ah man just realised that’s ANB’s third straight, straight sets exit from finals.

Poor guy, that’s rough 😬

AFL got their 3 favourites into the prelims. WWE rules.

I was hoping we didnt need to go there.

Loved ANB. He doesn't deserve to have to endure three straight set exits in a row. Imagine how he is feeling right now.

Come back to us any time you wish Alex. We would welcome you back with open arms and gratitude.

Are the dogs for real playing Treloar in VFL finals?

at least one of them is playing finals I guess

Crows were chasing all night and looked stunned by the ferocity of finals footy. They dont get enuff out of Tex Fogthorpe.

No straight sets for us this year!

Maybe ANB was the problem??

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
