Welcome to Demonland: Latrelle Sumner-Pickett

Kuz of Koz

Another addition to our 2025 hyphen brigade, mature age prospect Latrelle Sumner-Pickett was reportedly a potential target for clubs in the mid-season draft and will have done his chances of getting picked up no harm with this exciting recent senior SANFL debut performance. Kicking 4 goals and helping to set up a number of other scoring moves for Glenelg, LSP was perhaps at his most impressive when he was able to run with ball in hand, dodging and weaving past opponents.

First SOS, now KOK?

hmm 🤨

Makes unbelievably tough snaps look easy, and then makes weird kicking decisions when a regulation drop punt would do the job.

He’s definitely a Pickett.

Perhaps ironically, or just coincidentally, if we had lost Pickett I suspect we'd be looking more closely at Sumner-Pickett. Still, he'd clearly be an asset when it comes to making a forward line less predictable. He plays like he grew up stealing the ball in the playground and having five guys chasing to get it back off him.

If we do draft him can we please nickname him 'Somemore-Pickett'?

We absolutely need another x factor forward IMO. Ideally two. The question is whether Sumner-Pickett is good enough for AFL level.

Why is it so?

Want.

Second rounder feels right, he should be there assuming we don't do some pic swap buggery, definitely has some Kozzie about him.

Was talks we’d get a late second for Spargo (wild!) if he’s there then surely we’d take a chance?

From that brief video clip, I love his hard running, his goal sense and his desire to naturally take the game on. Looks very raw to me and would probably be a project pick in the draft. But he looks a very very good kick which adds immediately to our list improvement.

Agree. End of 2nd round seems about right. Admittedly that’s about pick 52-53 given the 16-17 academy and father son potential picks likely in round 1 and 2.

Wouldn’t be upset at taking a small dynamic forward like him way earlier than he might be ranged if it means we try and add flair and spark to a position we well and truly are crying out for more of. Fingers crossed!

you seem to get a read on these things early, whats prasads range next year? maybe my dovaston love affair is too short sighted

Cal Twomey has Latrelle at pick 30....

THATS RIGHT ABOUT WHERE OUR PICK 23 BLOWS OUT TO 30

I'D BE PRETTY CONTENT WITH THAT. A KOZZIE COUSIN AND ANOTHER SMALL FORWARD TO DEVELOP ALONGSIDE MENTHRA. FUN TIMES AHEAD

Would pick 23 be to early of a selection for Pickett knowing that it will end somewhere in the late 20s

Seems about right at the moment. Depends how he tested in the combines.

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
