How many people have accounts and never post?

Tom Morris and Damien Barrett

This 2026 draft will be a huge one

The “one year club”…

The veterans: (likely all 5 will retire at the end of 2026) …

Stephen May, Jake Melksham, Tom McDonald, Tom Campbell, Shane McAdam

The fringe: Bailey Laurie (?), Jai Culley (), Jack Henderson (x), Aidan Johnson (x)

The developers: Matt Jefferson (?), Ricky Mentha (), Andy Moniz-Wakefield (), Luker Kentfield ()

(Not sure if I’ve left anyone out)

Likely again between say 7 to 10 list changes likely at the end of 2026 as the King refresh kicks in

It’s fair to say the list will also have some reshaping and be active in the free agency/trade/draft period at the end of 2026

Jesus, let's get through night 2 of the draft first before we start delisting players for next year yeah?

Based off this years final ladder positions we currently have picks; 5, 13 (GC), 48 (GWS)

2 names that I like at this early stage are Jack Pickett (key fwd) from the Falcons and Will Malady (3rd tall fwd) from the Power.

his name definitely suits our side

2 first round picks (probably a 3rd when we try and ditch our 2027 one) and a death ride

Not quite sure how I'll contain myself for another 364 days

@Pennant St Dee will tell you that Heath Mellody is one to keep both eyes on for next year's draft, now a Mellody/Malady double would be something!

Have read good things about Mellody but haven't seen any vision myself. Will keep an eye out.

YouTube 2025 WAFL Colts Grand Final Claremont vs South Fremantle, the full game is on there

Time to do my annual early phantom draft for next year (picks based on current placings) -

1 West Coast Eagles (Arki Butler - Vic Metro)

2 Port Adelaide* (Dougie Cochrane - SA/Port NGA)

3 Carlton* (Cody Walker - Vic Country/Carl F/S)

4 Richmond (Archie Van Dyk - SA)

5 North Melbourne (Lewis Houndsome - Vic Metro)

6 Essendon Harry Van Hattum (Vic Metro)

7 Melbourne (Jack Pickett - Vic Country)

8 St Kilda (Gabriel Patterson - SA)

9 Brisbane Lions* (Caylen Murray - Brisbane Lions Academy)

10 Western Bulldogs (Wil Malady - Vic Country)

* matched bid

As you can see, there are a few matched academy/father son bids and Melbourne’s pick was an automatic selection based on the name only 😀

Pick 1 has a great first name but he wins the honour because he’s been compared to Tracc …

Way-too-early AFL Draft Power Rankings: The top 10 for 2026

Twelve months out from the 2026 AFL Draft, this is ESPN's way-too-early top 10 prospects to track.

Thankfully, they’re only confined to ten prospects at the moment.

access to dougie cochrane seems like a free kick to the pear, given in the full knowledge that any trade / compo picks they get for butters at the end of 2026 will be sucked by by the points required to match a very early bid on cochrane

Can clubs get access to 17 year olds through Tassie like we did with Jesse Hogan?

Harper Banfield - father son , just a born competitor, I’ve never seen a desire to win contests and just refuse to give in like I’ve seen in this kid. Reminds me of a young Jack Viney

How is that one going now? The Banfields still keen to nominate as a father-son at West Coast or would he feel safer in the open draft? 😁

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
