Does this mean we're going to end up with 3 White's playing for us or are we about to see the end of father sons?

The White boys(*) sure must know how to live under constant - albeit loving - pressure to perform!

Should stand them in good stead for a last-Saturday-in-September or two at the 'G!

(* Interestingly worrying: Auto correct wanted to capitalise the 'b'...)

Well, the Lions have two Ashcrofts and as premier are just about to load up on an academy player that's tipped to go in the top 10.

Similarly, Collingwood have x 2 Daicos

Honestly, I think if the AFL are going to address equalisation, then they need to get smarter than just turning off the tap on the FS and academies. Given how clubs like Brisbane and Collingwood have been allowed to cash-in on it, introducing a limit on how may clubs can take as a high draft pick equivalent over a 10 year rolling period would be much more reasonable propersition than just stopping it altogether from next season onwards.

...but we all know how the AFL works on fairness and reason right. Just look how well they have reprimanded Geelong for their out of cap, under the table payments.

Unfortunately, the proposed changes to the F/S rule will make it extremely difficult for us to get these blokes if they end up being 1st round picks. Tassie will likely scoop them up.

Still its not impossible and it would be awesome to have all 3 brothers playing for the one club.

Surely if they nominate us and we have the picks/points they’ll become ours. Isn’t the system going to change to make them more expensive, which I agree with, but still allow the romance to remain?

This, exactly how it should be.

BASKETBALL BACKGROUND CLAXON

if he doesn't get to 400+ games, multiple premierships, a norm smith, many b&fs and all oztrayan selections then he's letting his fellow background claxon callers down

Somebody tried to convince me that Scott Pendlebury has a basketball background. Anybody else heard this?

I think you’re thinking of Jack Watts.

The same person also claimed that Mark Blicavs is tall and athletic. Could they have been referring to Watts as well, do you reckon?

Pendlebury was an outstanding junior basketball player. He knocked back a scholarship to the AIS, who then offered it to Patty Mills. The rest is history.

Any chance they're both 2 metres tall already?

If they were standing beside the Feby twins you would probably see who is who apart from the walking frames

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
