NON-MFC: Round 24

1965 Hawks had one flag we had 12. 60 years later they have won 12 more and Dees one. Hawks have won a flag every decade since the 60s. 2023 they finished 16th with there decade winning sequence surely ending. Now back in contention. Go Lions

Very good point.

Unfortunately.

I hope both Collingwood and Hawthorn are out of finals as quickly as possible.

The umpiring has reached a new low in this game. Seriously they are paying what’s not there and missing the obvious! Paying holding the ball when you take the ball and get immediately hit front on, no prior, no chance to release, but it’s a free, then guys taking on the tackler, get tackled and then try to hand ball, it’s play on.

Lions kicking themselves out of this, they should be 7 goals up at three quarter time. Suspect the Hawks will Walz home here.

Absolutely.

They should also bring back the abuse rule.

Well there goes Hawthorn's double chance.

Such a shame😀

great result. Brisbane back-to-back flag and collifilth out in straight sets

Great to see that smug show pony Ginnivan, and self professed wizard didn’t get over the line.

Now for Adelaide to beat Pies and Brisbane to beat Cats 🤞

So any clues on when the finals games for week 1 will be played?

The top 6 can't move and if it is assumed that the Suns win, they'll finish 7th or 8th. Hawks will also finish 7th or 8th (depending on percentage)

Do they kick things off with a Thursday night match as what has happened previously?

I'll have a go ...

Thursday - Cats vs Lions QF

Friday - Freo vs Hawks/GC Suns EF

Saturday Arvo - GWS vs Hawks/GC Suns EF

Saturday Evening - Crows vs Pies QF

Crazy to think since the 2021 GF the Dogs have had only two finals appearances and no finals wins yet they extended Bevo while we sacked the coach.

I reckon their board definitely jumped the gun on the decision.

No sympathy from me either. But, he’s a young guy, if he is struggling with his mental health (regardless whether it is self inflicted or not), I don’t see any issues with him escaping the spotlight for a bit (it also allows the club to concentrate on finals). And to be fair, the AFL do an amazing job of making themselves look like fools all the time; they don’t need Adelaide to assist with that!

I reckon she’s right. The Crows successfully argued that Rankine’s mental health was in a poor place and the AFL took a week off his suspension as a result. 2 days later he boards a plan to Europe for a holiday.

It makes a mockery of what they told the AFL, including the support he needed.

Yep agree. How about he sticks around & support his teamates that he has let down & train hard.

Apparently he's in Italy. So what about these so called medical issues that was factored in?

I think the Crows/Pies game will be on Thursday or Friday 'Macca'...it's probably the big game of the 4.

What gets me is all the spin from everyone in the club is that he's deeply sorry and will accept whatever comes his way.

Then they fight it tooth and nail.

What a load of...

And Giants or Dockers to beat Hawks.

Lions can also add Berry, Neale and Hipwood.

Yeah, you nailed it, rjay

Interesting that we get the 2 QF's on the Thursday & Friday with the losers of each QF hosting SF's on the following Friday and Saturday evening

At a guess, I reckon the winner of the Thursday QF will host the PF on the Friday evening with the winner of the Friday QF hosting the PF on Saturday twilight (?)

So apparently the dogs still have to rock up to training tomorrow as normal because they're still in the 8.

It would feel weird because in your head you know essendon aren't beating the GC.

I love how the bombers are just so pathetic, people aren't even entertaining the idea that they could win

Guys, It's essendon. Time for mad monday

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

It’s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle – perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?
