No

We could look at moving Pick 8 as well. For example

In: Pick 10, 22 from hawks

Out: Pick 8, pick 37

Take 3, 10 and 22 to the draft

hawks arent bouncing from 22 to 37 just to move up two spots, even if they knew we wanted the player they did they wouldn't slide that far in the second round

I'd love to understand the maths to our list spots.

From a changes list we have gained 4 players and lost 11, which is a net loss of 7 players somewhere. What spots do we have free on the senior vs rookie list?

By my estimates we took two supplementary picks last year to cover LTIs. This means we had 2 extra players on our list. So if we lose 11 players we can only replace 9.

Jiath, Checkers, Steele, Max, 7, 8, Kalani, Sinnema,?

He’s a very strong and powerful kid, so I guess athleticism?

I watched the highlights of the game where he had 40 & 3 (?) and the three shots on goal might have been the only possessions to find targets

I tend to agree. Don't think he's the kind of talent you trade up for.

That's sort of the going rate though.

2023 essendon gave up 11 and 31 to get to 10 with nothing else going back.

GWS also gave up pick 18 and a future 2nd to move up to 17. Again with nothing back.

If Hawks wanted to move up two spots in the first round it's going to cost them a 2nd rounder.

Should I trust the AI that’s clearly wrong? Or my eyesight and pre-frontal cortex?

AI ALL THE WAY, BABY

Google Lens deliberately not good at identifying people… for privacy and safety reasons

Underrated move in hindsight. Got Caddy with 10 and then collected. Archie Roberts at 39.

Ah-ha.

Strange, then, that it's able to provide a name. Not great for that person's safety!😬

Starting a rumor - Demons to start recruiting in Ireland again, as Tassie will be taking all the good kids soon!

Kind of looks like Nick Watson , certainly has his stature.

Two I heard today - reasonable source:

JT and the dees consider Robey to be the next Oliver in terms of having a massive year and an emerging standout in this year's draft crop. Worried he may go top 3.

Dees had considered Cam Guthrie as depth but injury prone in last few years.

Heath and that’s it.

Remember from just before Game of Thrones went to absolute rot, there was a scene where Tyrian Lannister gave three different people each a different version about who some princess was going to be sent to marry, so that when the rumour broke it identified who was leaking and gossiping.

Anyway, unrelated to that - I have a theory about the ridiculous "De Goey to Melbourne" rumour.

thats all she wrote.!!

Not a dees rumour but found it amusing that the dons have allegedly made a "massive" offer for Weddle who comes out of contract next year. Supposedly around $10mil over 7 years.

Retaliation for the Hawks attempt to lure Merrett perhaps?

Hawks falling short of a premiership and Essendon sinking another rebuild on the back of a petulant trade war is something we can all get behind.

Ideally both clubs are left with disgruntled players on excessive retention payments dominating the locker room while losing honourable stalwarts to other clubs on the side.

Not that we'd know anything about that.

Good, I hope they get a bit back.

If his manager is the same as Merretts this would be chefs kiss.

It’s also quite a good play to do it now so it’s looming over next season for the hawks too.

Also has this ever happened before? A club offering a deal publicly a year ahead?
