Flanders the exciting one for me.. he can bring genuine pace,

He’s not quick, in fact his lack of pace is a big worry.

Derksen/Heath are good depth, but I think Derksen has potential to be a 200 gamer -- for anyone who thinks GWS do not rate him, think about how strongly vehement they were LY in keeping him, despite huge KPP depth

200 is very steep. 100 games would be a great result for Wade.

They didn’t have huge depth, they had Aliir and Wade, kept both because you need 2 back ups in a flag window. And it’s hard to convince guys to go up their on a one year minimum chips deal. In hindsight they probably could’ve convinced someone like Tomlinson to go back for a year and released Wade a year early.

Hard to watch that presser and the questions about Sam Flanders and conclude anything other than Steven King would absolutely love to get him to the club

Anybody else keen on the Texan, playing forward coach, two year contract?

In the comments Morris responds to a question by saying he believes Petracca will be traded and not to overlook interstate clubs (and that Hawthorn would appear to be too difficult given the Merrett chase).

Walter and a first for Tracca we are so back

Interesting situation.

If we announce we’re moving on from Trac, our bargaining power takes a substantial hit, and we’d be unlikely to get fair value.

If Trac says he wants out, his options are limited to only where we believe the best offer is. Otherwise, we hold him to his deal.

Who blinks first?

People are confusing Aliir Aliir (former Sydney player now at Port Adelaide) with Leek Aleer (GWS player seeking to go to St Kilda).

I think with newly eliminated finals teams thinking about where they need a boost to take the next step (I'm looking at Adelaide, but could see GC having a look, particularly at groundball contest in the forward half), it may be one of those that blink and start asking about Petracca. It'll only take one of them to put a call in to Trac's management to kick things off. Melbourne can sit back without pushing him out there themselves (whilst being happy enough if he comes back next season).

Absolutely but I am trying to articulate I think he is more than mere depth! If I was betting, I'd go >125 how's that?

I didn’t confuse the player but yes I confused the spelling. It’s all a bit hear, their and everywhere

Those are the 2 clubs to stand out. Adelaide should bring in a workman like tall to play forward/ruck, free up Thilthorpe and then Tracc effectively replaces Tex as a forward/mid attacking weapon.

I reckon we can do better than Mason Cox. Much, much, much better.

I’m throwing a lot of chips on Walter having a breakout year in 2026, he’s right on the precipice

Aside from the players of course I don't think there's anyone of significance left at the club from when he threw his toys out of the pram so why would he still want out? Unless it's still about crowd sizes and the brand.

Reckon his brand will fare better getting dees back to finals and a successful finals campaign than running around for a perennial also ran.

Re Trac, HS article suggesting that the club with the combination of interest/need and cap space is Adelaide.

Umm no, they’re not lol it’s just a fast typing error, hence why I called him Leek earlier!

As for someone saying Flanders is slow.. yikes

Flanders pace is of absolutely zero concern — his late game running is especially game breaking thanks to his tank, but his straight line pace is excellent.

Bit of chatter in a few different corners about Adelaide being the right fit. They definitely looked a quality midfielder or two short in both finals.

Not sure what they have to give us but my god I hope the idea isn’t their first this year and next, that’d feel like a Bailey Smith deal

Word was they were keener on Clarry but I’d much prefer they chase Trac — better return in a trade and I think Clarry is more invested, more bankable assets Trac’s kicking for me has just become too much a liability — then there’s the fact many teammates have allegedly questioned his effort, if he wants out let him go so long as the trade has value

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
