i thought he meant that other clubs are jealous of [the loyalty and passion of] peptides supporters

which i think is fair enough - they're incredibly loyal to their side; still big numbers of members, still big crowds

I 100% agree with you. They created this mess and it is now making it extremely difficult for perennial cellar dwellers to challenge whilst other clubs hard spend time out of the eight. You either commit blindly to equalisation and eradicate all elements that are contrary OR you don’t and let the cards fall as they may.

the other problem was in what Scott said about player agents. Something to the effect of them saying “sign long term contract and if you want to move later , we’ll move you”. THAT is utter [censored] and should be shut down immediately. AFL is moving to set max contract years but the clubs need more power to avoid being held to ransom by these lowlife scum bags.

Loyalty? They hate everything that doesnt have the surname Hird, and then they were willing to help pay the legal fees of someone who resided at that time in Toorak.. Matthew Knights on the other hand was at risk of being lynched.

Seems to have worked out OK for the Suns when Steven May left. Admittedly, it has taken a while to turn it round, but salvation is possible.

I’m at a point where I’d like to see change. Given Scott is sounding like Melbourne last year huffing about contracts I don’t see Merrett moving.

If the trades we got for moving on petracca and Tholstrop netted us back Flanders and amiss (and we held onto ANY first rounder for next year) I’d be very happy with our list management.

Flanders is a prime ball mover, and has shown he has capacity to be a 30-40 touch player when white hot. He gets shunted out of position up at Gold Coast and if we had a Trac sized hole I think he would find that a clear opening to set himself up in.

We have a young Essendon supporter who we’re currently trying to lure across from the dark side 😁 He came along to one match as a guest of Duxy who’s a stalwart of the DA.

That was about three months ago. Since then he’s attended every Dees match (even interstate), every Dees AFLW match, every Dees VFL match, he’s attended banner-making and even banner-raising. He wears our regalia at every game.

On Saturday night, at the Casey semi, I noticed he was fighting back tears. Reason being, he had seen the final score of the Suns/Freo match. Here’s the thing… he was born in 2005 therefore has never seen Essendon win a final. It pained him that the Suns won a final in his lifetime before Essendon did.

Of course I listened to and consoled him but - and I’m going straight to hell for this - all the while I’m thinking awesome this’ll get him over the line. 🤭

Amiss and JVR might complement each other well. Reminds me of Brisbane where Hipwood who many regard as soft worked well with Morris this year. After Hipwood went out injured Morris’s game drops off and Brisbane’s tall forward play looked like ours last week.

Amiss can lead, has marking presence and is a reliable kick for goal. His woes started when Voss appeared. Now the Freo forward line has Tracey, Voss, Jackson and Amiss competing for the same ball in most forward thrusts. He has been crowded out.
