Perhaps Teague could come as midfield and ball movement coach...

Very similar mindset to King in terms of being ultra aggressive. He feels like a natural fit for that path.

Massive news. Played footy with him at Leongatha, one of the smartest footy brains I’ve come across and great at getting message across.

Strength and conditioning are as important as desire and intent.

Brenton Sanderson on Trade Radio was raving about Scarlett’s appointment.

I like this quote In reference to the Scarlett era at Geelong.

“Geelong trained harder than most clubs played games.”

I dare say he’ll demand high training standards.

This isn't a comment about you @Bring-Back-Powell - but I find it a hilarious notion, that all these coaches have been in AFL environments for a very long time - yet only ONE of them has the capacity to a) know what elite training standards looks like and b) demand/instill/allow elite level training standards from the players on a consistent basis.

Staying: Jones, Chaplin

Casey coach : Rhett McLennan

Casey Demons, assts coaches - Riley Bonner and Dylan Roberton

I heard on the radio yesterday (SEN) that Hamill declined our interest and is leaving football altogether.

Was there any mention of Hawkins? I am guessing he too has declined thr part time role?

I've no idea how Scarlett is planning to juggle his work/life balance. He has four teenagers including two budding footballers. He has a two hour drive to Gosch's paddock and more than three hours to Casey. An accident or traffic jam (not infrequent) and he'd be MIA.

Only that he'd been approached. They didn't say whether he'd accepted or declined. I hope he's still thinking about it.

We generally train about 11am. Doing that once or twice a week isn’t that burdensome surely? The kids would all be at school!

Last i saw he was considering our offer.

We've pitched it as a part time gig around his media commitments so hopefully he's keen.

If you're driving from Torquay to Richmond you'd want to leave by 6am. Later than that and you hit a log jam at Point Cook. It can take 2 hours to get to Gosch's from there. A similar nightmare getting home. Essentially a full day for 90 minutes of training. Casey? Forget it.

Might be quicker to come across on the Queenscliffe to Sorrento Ferry?

Max Viney’s timely re-appointment as combative and tackling coach seems to have slipped under the radar.

AFLW coach lives in Anglesea and does it

There's also those things that run on ribbons of steel...

Well ...there are. Some even stop across the road 🤷‍♂️

I utilise that mode of transport frequently (every Dees game in Melbourne). It's a solid two hours each way. Matt would be traveling 4 hours to conduct 90 mins (?) of drills.

Also Matt is heavily involved with his local club where his two boys (13 and 14 and 191 and 193cm) play. Harry (14) won the league B&F (div 1). He'll be at Geelong Falcons very soon. Younger boy Oliver also a talent. I just reckon Matt would have more interest in the progress of his boys (and twin daughters) than the likes of JvR, Jeffo et al.

Not enough hours in the day I reckon. May last one year. Just my opinion.

Does he have four teenagers including two budding footballers? Maybe a house in Melbourne?

Not that I am an expert, however why have Matt Lloyd or Richardson never been forwards coaches?

They both speak well for the most part, maybe Richo sometimes not.

Both brilliant forwards of their time.

Maybe too long ago?

Even Riwoldt(s)?

What exactly would make a good forward coach?

Lets call it a goal kicking coach.....the rest of the ground is interconnected.....hopefully!

I would say he works 2 days: comes up one day and works, stays over, works next day, drives home.

He’s signed a contract and agreed to terms with the club. Do you honestly think that hasn’t all been taken into account?

I’m sure they didn’t have him sign a contract while he was 14 pints deep at the Torquay Hotel.

Is it time that Melbourne (Club, and City) set up a regular commuter helicopter service across Port Phillip bay?

Remember when we talk about AFL players and coaches we are talking about people whose time is worth anywhere up to $500 an hour.

A classic, typical Demonland post.

Maybe presume Scarlett & MFC are mature enough to work out the travel arrangements.
